So I’m not sure if this is already a thread, but if it is I’m doing it again as I want to introduce some (different) rules.

What would be your ideal set list for a Beatles concert?

Here are the rules

1) only songs they released before they stopped touring. So that is, everything before Revolver

2) you can choose how they arrange each song, but it has to have been performed in that way in real life. For example, in 1966 they performed Yesterday using electric guitars, drums and bass, not just acoustic, so you could use that.

So there you go.

I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

Aww that’s a bummer, most of my favourite Beatles songs are Revolver and after.

I guess it makes sense for realisms sake though, they wouldn’t have been able to perform many of the songs anyway!

My set list would be:

1. I Saw Her Standing There

2. Ticket To Ride

3. Nowhere Man

4. And I Love Her

5. I Want To Hold Your Hand

6. Day Tripper

7. All My Loving

8. She Loves You

9. Help

10. Paperback Writer

11. If I Needed Someone

12. Yesterday (Paul solo acoustic version)

ENCORE

13. A Hard Day’s Night

14. Can’t Buy Me Love

15. Twist And Shout

@QuarryMan there is a thread about an ideal fantasy Beatles reunion concert somewhere that I remember posting on, but I don’t know if that counts as being similar to this. Here’s my setlist anyways:

A Hard Day’s Night

Tell Me Why

I Wanna Be Your Man

Help !

I’m Happy Just To Dance With You

Long Tall Sally

You Can’t Do That

Ticket To Ride

Eight Days A Week

I Need You

Yesterday

In My Life

Encore: Twist And Shout

why can’t we include songs from Revolver ? That was released before their last concert in ’66.

Notes:

1. I am not following rule 2 because it doesn’t make any sense to me and also, although Yesterday was performed as a full band in 1966, it was performed solo by Paul on vocals and acoustic guitar back in 1965.

2. Since both the Paperback Writer single and the Yesterday And Today album were released before Revolver , which technically means that Paperback Writer , Rain , And Your Bird Can Sing , and Doctor Robert  are allowed on the setlist, as well as I’m Only Sleeping although I chose not to put that one on the setlist because it’d be impossible to play live.

3. My prefect concert would have them with these instruments:

John Lennon :

Epiphone Casino

Gibson Acoustic

Paul McCartney :

Rickenbacker Bass

Epiphone Acoustic

Epiphone Casino

George Harrison :

Fender Stratocaster

Gibson SG

Rickenbacker 360/12

Sorry, I could have made myself clearer. I meant to say anything on revolver or beforehand, so yes Revolver songs are allowed, though none were ever performed live.

I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,

And, @Dark Overlord / @Dark Overlord , the reason for rule 2 is simply to provide some realism. And I wasn’t saying you had to identify that Yesterday version, just as an example.

I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.
