So I think I’m going to start a project/experiment, that should be fun and interesting although very difficult. I’m going to try (as accurately as my skills will allow me to pull off) to cover an entire Beatles album. I however, do not have the best voice, especially when singing Beatles stuff, and I have no drum kit. I may omit these parts, but it wouldn’t sound right then, and I could find the drum tracks online, but I don’t think it would be a true cover anymore. Either way I’m going to begin to attempt this… I’m thinking Pepper or Rubber Soul … anyone have a suggestion?
I should have a cover up later that’s not related to this…
I’d suggest Please Please Me or Help !(Although some parts you might not be able to achieve for example the violin choir in ‘Yesterday ‘

@Mr. Kite I’d love to hear your version of the White Album . Stylistically it’s the most varied of their albums, giving you the chance to stretch out and play (unless you’re looking to just do straight covers), and I’d love to hear how you do the rarely covered Revolution 9 .
I was actually thinking the White Album , especially since I know quite a few of the difficult parts already (the solo on While My Guitar Gently Weeps , the fingerpicking in Julia ) but since it’s so long I wasn’t sure. I think I might l try though, because it sounds like fun. I did want to do mostly straight covers, but because of my limitations I might change them a little. Revolution 9 is something I wanted to cover or at least make my own version of for a while, that should be interesting.
@TheBeatlesJohn I was thinking maybe PPM , Help ! Didn’t cross my mind, but I could probably do that, and I have a keyboard that I could use to make up for the lack of the string instruments if I needed to.
So The White One is looking like a major possibility now, along with the others mentioned.

@Mr. Kite I’ll be honest here. Straight covers bore me. When I’ve heard The Beatles do it the way they do it, why do I want to listen a not-as-good imitation? Whatever you decide to do, I hope you decide to play with their versions and do something a little-bit-you with them.

We’ll see what happens, but I’ll keep that in mind. Maybe change some solos up bit, I don’t know. The White Album ‘s got lots of material who says I can’t do both?

So I don’t really know where to put this, but I thought it’d be the most relevant place without creating a pointless thread.
I do Music at school and a task we’ve been given is to create a “unique interpretation” of a song of our choice as solo work then perform it. Of course, I’m going to do a Beatles song played on piano, and it’s most likely going to be given a more melancholy or sad twist, or if it’s already sad, it’s going to be changed up.
I can learn a song in about half an hour thanks to online chords, and I’ve already learnt a few. And of course, you get to choose which song I perform. So here they are, in no particular order:
- In My Life
- Girl
- Norwegian Wood
- A Day In The Life
- Baby’s In Black
- Across The Universe
- All My Loving
- If I Fell
- Rain
- Revolution
- She Loves You
- Ticket To Ride
- Yesterday
- Words Of Love
- No Reply
- You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away
- Eleanor Rigby
- Nowhere Man
- What You’re Doing
- Golden Slumbers /Carry That Weight
- I Don’t Want To Spoil The Party
- I Should Have Known Better
- I Will
- I’ve Just Seen A Face
- The Long And Winding Road
- I’ll Follow The Sun
- Real Love
- John Lennon ‘s Now And Then
- Other
So that’s the list. I’ve learnt all of these, but I’d be fine learning any other if you specify.

I don't expect you... to understand after you've caused so much pain. But then again, you're just a human... a victim of the insane.

By the way, there’s a guy who has put up over a thousand youtubes where he shows viewers how to play various Beatles songs (including post-Beatles McCartney, Harrison, etc.) — on both acoustic and electric guitar. He calls himself “privetricker” (who knows, he might even be a member here, though I searched that name here and couldn’t find anything).
Here’s his main tube page:

This is just from my series of “Covers in My Mind” — Beatles songs I imagine would be cool done by others:
“Don’t Let Me Down ” done more as a folk-country song (rather than blues rock as it was done), with an ensemble: Paul Simon, Art Garfunkel, James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, and Emmylou Harris — the latter two female voices sounding more in the lead, except those parts where a solo voice sings “Nobody ever loves me like she does” — that would be Art Garfunkel.
The instrumentation would be acoustic, with two guitars, mandolin, dobro, fiddle, harmonica, accordion, tambourine etc.
