I hope you don’t mind, @Beatlebug but I couldn’t help trying to play bass along to it, here is a somewhat edited version:https://drive.google.com/file/…..sp=sharing
There are mistakes etc, it was just fun to play with it and I used audacity to do it, so you can see its a pretty handy thing.
I’m planning on doing a cover of Old Brown Shoe , hopefully I can do it tomorrow and my voice is working.
OHMYGOSH I LOVE IT!!!!
Improves the song by 9 x 10 to the 999, thank you so much! (Though I’d have appreciated it if you had asked me first, but I love it so much I don’t mind.)
Anyway, I found my ‘Blackbird ‘ demo; it’s got mistakes and whatnot but here it is. May I introduce to you, the guitar you’ve known for all these years… Martin!
…P.S. I have to say that the overwhelming positive feedback I’ve been getting here is making me so happy I almost cried a little. As some of you may know, That Means A Lot .

Yeah it was a bit cheeky but I didn’t think you’d mind. Still haven’t done the George yet, I got sidetracked and watching Ringo interviews cos he’s so good at them.
Your Blackbird is lovely, golly your voice is good, and keep up those variations too. It’s hard to not do it, the song makes you feel like it (that’s my excuse anyway). I taught myself to play it but the vocals are a bit high for me, one of those “it was always there but Paul found it aaagh” songs I wish I’d written.
Eleventy billion keep it up.

Paul might have used a Precision on the track, he used one a lot on the Abbey Road sessions.
You mean Jazz Bass, as Paul never used a P-bass.

Go @Beatlebug! Fantastic work. It might even be worth starting a thread, along the lines of ‘Silly Girl’s guitar work’, as these are excellent!

Ahhh thank ewe4! (I think. I’ve lost count.)
They’re actually copped right off of a live performance Paul did (Wings over America I think), although I sing it differently every time, as according to my mood.

I will when I get a proper recording something or other, there’s so much stuff I want to record and share.
Preferring one multi-purpose thread over several, I’d probably just stick them in my scribbles erhum, pardon me, artwork thread and change the title to ‘Silly Girl’s thread of goofs and gaffs sights and sounds’ or something.

He did, but not during the Beatles. It does sound very thumpy though, I thought at first it could be the Fender VI, maybe he restrung the Rick with new strings.

I don’t think so, @William Shears Campbell. Silly Dad is quite keen on her album Fumbling Toward Ectasy, but I’m not a huge fan of her singing style myself, though that cover was all right.

Since the Bass VI was left handed, that’s out of the question, it must be the Rick. Not to get off topic but since you can tell tonal qualities in different bass models, maybe you can tell me what guitar George used in Got To Get You Into My Life (the hard to hear fuzz guitar mimicking the brass lines in the left channel), it might help someone make a cover.
Maybe you should try posting more.

Here’s an actual cover:
Old Brown Shoe by George Harrison
I cheated, and recorded the bass in the original key of C then pitch-shifted it down to a more comfortable A# for my vocal range and the ukes. The wacky synth noises and other burbles is my Novation Bass Station II. It is so fun to play. Also, I am not a patch on George.

You mean right-handed. And it’s difficult to say but probably Rocky, until Lucy came along he was playing that on most things at that period.
