I’m working on a cover version of Being For The Benefit of Mr. Kite (Being For My Benefit ) where I’m going to change things up a bit, I’m writing a solo part for the tape loop section.

Awesome stuff! I’ll be sure to check it out if you decide to release it
By the way, I’m thinking about re-doing my ‘There’s a place’ cover (making the high vocal and harmonica better mainly, but totally re-doing everything from scratch) and making a cover of Please Please Me , the album Anyone think I can manage it? It shouldn’t be too difficult seeing as it’s mainly just guitars and drums that are used on that album

@mr-kite, that’s a project project I’m looking forward to hearing!
Very ambitious, @TheBeatlesJohn, good luck on that.
I’ve been wanting to post a cover for a while now, but I just can’t seem to decide what song I should do.

I can play Day Tripper , but it doesn’t sound right with one guitar and my female voice. I ain’t got a whole studio at home like you!

Why not get Sony Vegas or a similar software and dub it? Like record 1 track, then the other, etc?

So I don’t really know where to put this, but I thought it’d be the most relevant place without creating a pointless thread.I do Music at school and a task we’ve been given is to create a “unique interpretation” of a song of our choice as solo work then perform it. Of course, I’m going to do a Beatles song played on piano, and it’s most likely going to be given a more melancholy or sad twist, or if it’s already sad, it’s going to be changed up.
I can learn a song in about half an hour thanks to online chords, and I’ve already learnt a few. And of course, you get to choose which song I perform. So here they are, in no particular order:
- Girl
- Other
So that’s the list. I’ve learnt all of these, but I’d be fine learning any other if you specify.
More songs I could do:
Oh, I forgot the most important one: a solemn, slow, melancholic version of Helter Skelter !

Here’s my ‘cover’ of Strawberry Fields Forever . Now, before you listen to this, I must warn you that it’s not really a cover. My friend bought a guitar and invited me over to play some songs. He had his mic and speakers set up, as well as the guitar, and that matrix thingy (or whatever it’s called on English) that provides various sound effects. I found this cool color that somehow matched Strawberry Fields in my hear, so I decided to play it. My friend added some effect to my voice, and what I didn’t know, is that he recorded the whole thing. We played many songs and Strawberry Fields was the only complete song on the recording, and since I promised to post something, I decided that it’s better that I post this rather than a crappy phone recording. But given that I didn’t know that I was being recorded, I didn’t put much effort into it, and I messed up some chords and lyrics because my friend kept making silly faces while I was playing and singing as he always does. My voice doesn’t even sound like me as I’m still down with the fever and the sound effects have almost completely altered it. So, please excuse all the imperfections and give a listen to my completely random and unprepared for ‘cover’ of Strawberry Fields Forever .

@ScrambledEggs You do have a great voice, especially if this isn’t your best and there are strange effects.
Can’t wait to hear a better recording!

I just recorded covers of Eleanor Rigby , Rain and Mr Moonlight , but I hate my recordings of the first two and the battery of the camera ran out on the last. Oh well, I’m an awful singer anyway.
And to be authentic, I’ll have to wait for my guitar too.

Never mind, I’ve deleted them. It’s not good for my anxiety.
I was hoping to hear Rain … When you get your guitar I hope you release a version you’re comfortable with.

My dad and I are working on turning Words Of Love into a guitar duet, with me doing lead guitar on my Gretsch, and him playing the melody/harmony and bass line on his classical guitar. We’re doing the same thing with I Feel Fine , but Words Of Love is better in my opinion. I’ll post them both later today if I can get a good recording.
