It’s likely lots of you folks ’round these here parts won’t remember, but…
Well, back when I frequented this forum a lot more than I do now, I did not like the song “Here, There, and Everywhere.” I don’t even know why anymore, because the point of this topic is that because of you guys and Von Bontee/vonbontee specifically, if I recall correctly , I finally fell in love with this great song.
What song(s) has this forum convinced you to love? Feel free to specify individual posters.
If I seem to act unkind, it's only me, it's not my mind that is confusing things.

MeanMrsMustard! Oh, wow! Site legend! Lovely to see you! Not been converted to anything at all, though listening to more of Paul’s solo silly love songs! Just wonderful to see you back!

Great topic, M3.
I’ll go along with mja and then some. I’ve always been a rabid Beatles fan (sans foaming mouth), but just a casual fan of their solo careers. This sight really turned me on to all of it. I also started reading more and more about them.

I don’t know about converting me on anything, I’m one of these people who makes up my own mind about things and doesn’t leave much room for alterations after that (did somebody say “Stubborn”?). I am a little surprised that you (and others) singled out ‘Here, There & Everywhere’ though, not because I think it’s so fab (it’s good, but ‘For No One ‘ is great), but because Sir Paul himself has stated numerous times that it’s his favourite and that usually gets a few million votes, right? The impressive thing about ‘Here, There & Everywhere’ is obviously the harmonies, an obvious nod to one of Paul’s biggest influences, The Beach Boys . Sir Paul has even rated The Beach Boys ‘ ‘Pet Sounds’ album as his favourite album, and while first hearing it during the ‘Sgt. Pepper ‘ sessions he’d felt duped, thinking that the masterpiece that he was working so earnestly on had all ready been made.
I think that we’re starting to convert meanmistermustard into appreciating ‘Hold Me Tight ‘ though, perhaps he’s been listening to McCartney’s ‘NEW’ album a lot lately (“Appreciate, Appreciate, Appreciate”) and it’s having a subliminal effect. Has anybody noticed that his reviews of ‘Hold Me Tight ‘ lately are beginning to sound more positive?…:-)

Fat chance. There’s about as much chance as me being converted to One Direction and going to see them in concert at the front row with a sign declaring my love for one who isn’t Harry.
Best not poke the dragon with the stick.
I’ve heard New once thru since its release; and considering i’m only on wild Life in my relistening to Paul drive it won’t be for a very long while till i get back around to it.
As for being converted well i knew the Beatles and solo careers before getting here. I like George’s work more but thats not down to what someone posted, its just thru listening to it all again and finding it to be better than previously – but thats the same with a lot of artists i never really got.

MeanMrs.Mustard, how nice to have you back!
I’ve been posting very infrequently myself all month (all year), so what a surprise to check in here for the first time in a week and find that you’ve not only returned but namechecked me (twice!) in a post – amazing!
Can’t think of any songs that this forum’s posters have caused me to revise a negative opinion on, but there’ve certainly been songs that I gave extra scrutiny to based on something one of you has written…so at least that’s something.
GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

Hello Ms. mmm.
My appreciation of “Silly Love Songs” has been on par with Mr. mmm’s love of “Hold Me Tight .”
Yet I’ve come to recognize that if you take away the lyrics, it’s a good production. (Love that mashup with the Eminem vocals.)
(And speaking of ‘Hold Me Tight ‘, one minute into the Yardbirds’ “For your Love” you hear the same shuffling bass/guitar line (probably played by Eric Clapton):

That bass/guitar bit in For your love actually does sound a bit like the one in Hold Me Tight . Same vein.
Anyway, do you know what’s so funny about For your love? The guy who wrote it said the Beatles were his inspiration for that song, and he actually wanted to offer it to the Beatles as well. He gave to to a publisher so he could take it down to some place where the Beatles were performing, but the Yardbirds happened to be performing there as well that night and they heard the tape and recorded it.
And apparently Clapton hated playing on it.

I think For Your Love was a bit tame for Clapton. He soon got tired of doing ”boring” guitar work. It’s a decent song, though. It was one of the first songs from the 60s (apart from the Beatles) that I really loved.

Good luck on that. I’d suggest doing something with more chance of success, like persuading the Paulettes to switch their allegiance to Pete Best.
