I love this. Always looked forward to it when playing the ‘Yellow Submarine ‘ cassette as i always played both sides of an album the whole way thru. George Martine put in some lovely pieces eg at 0:34, between 0:43 – 58, and the closing section from 1:40. So cheerful.

I love all of George Martin’s compositions on this album. I just wish they were listed in same order as they appeared in the actual film.
Probably just a bit of OCD on my part, but it would have made more sense.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

I really need to (re-)investigate GM’s score for this album. I never gave it much attention when I owned the album years ago (all I own now is the songtrack CD) but want to see if I could appreciate it more now that I have more of a taste for orchestral music.
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

Here is as good as anywhere.
The Pepperland Suite. There are differences to the standard album tracks and its brilliant. I love this and play it often.*
*A google search reveals it to have been on the 1998 George Martin compilation ‘In My Life‘.
