A compilation is probably the logical choice – you don’t get that kinda feel and sense of journey that an album gives you but as a first-up intro, could be the go. The White is certainly throwing them in at the deep end! Try explaining Rev 9! Maybe depends on the kind of person you’re dealing with, if I thought they could handle it, then definitely for the variety factor.
All You Need Is Love was my broccoli – love it now. First heard it as a dog food commercial – anyone remember that? – truly hideous.

Playing the Help ! album is great as well purely because it’s just a great pop album none of the psychedelic amazing-weirdness of Sgt.Pepper’s or Revolver which could overwhelm people.

I might add the Hard Day’s night album as well. If I could talk them into it, I would get them to watch the Anthology. When that first screened, I sat down to watch a bit, not knowing (or caring!) much about The Beatles – at the end of ten or eleven hours, I was in love!
Somewhere in this Forum there is a thread that asked this very question…which album(s) would you recommend to a non Beatles fan? I strongly recommended AHDN and H!
Joe was the one who made me realize how far along John’s songwriting had developed on A Hard Day’s Night . John was a great pop songwriter…when he had to be.
As for HELP!, ASJr described it perfectly. it’s just a great pop album. Oh BTW, I’m listening to it now.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

Help ! and AHDN are the best Beatles pop artists for any newbie. AHDN is Beatlemania in 30 odd minutes right from the off with no let up and I love Help ! so much, such a blast with a bit more tinge of growing up in regards to the lyrics and musicianship. No idea why but I wouldn’t personally use 1 as a Beatles intro to anyone.

The worst Beatle’s songs (imo):
COVERS:
Everybody’s Trying To Be My Baby
Mr. Moonlight
I have read the other members and it’s strange for me the mention of Revolution 9 (imo one of the BEST BEATLE’S SONGS). It’s nice to be here, this is my first participation and sorry for my bad english…

^^ Michelle and Getting Better ? Why? (I’m genuinely interested to know).
I agree about Mr Moonlight . Lennon’s vocals are good, but they’re utterly ruined by Macca’s Hammond organ solo. It sounds like bathwater going down the plug.

I’ve said it before, but I think Rocky Raccoon is let down before it has a chance to kick off because of Paul’s goofy spoken bit at the beginning. People hear that and go “oh god, this is silly”, but really it’s a wonderful, melodic little country-western morality tale with great lyrics.

Hmmm, I think the only Beatles song I actively dislike is “Savoy Truffle .” There are others I could take or leave (“You Won’t See Me “), or that have serious flaws (duff lyrics in “It’s Only Love “), or that I don’t think are good enough to go on an album (“Birthday “), but I don’t begrudge them their existence and can even enjoy them once in a while. “Savoy Truffle ” I would kill, kill with fire, if I could.
