Quite agree. Such a dire song.

Yoko’s vocals really ruin The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill for me. It’s such a minor part of the song too. If it weren’t for those vocals, I’d enjoy it much more.
Hello, Goodbye is decent for an occasional listen but gets very repetitive. Definitely not one of my favourites.

I’d agree with that, it’s just a nothing song for me.

Come on guys! Only A Northern Song has got a very cool chord progression, the lyrics are even better when you know the back story, and Ringo was on fire!
Though the Anthology 2 version is better, I’ll admit…

Personally I find it drags on and has a dull melody.
I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

Only A Northern Song is so brilliant considering how blatant of a jab it is at Northern Songs, who were totally screwing over George for songs he wrote. The chord progression is as sarcastic as the lyrics are. The chord changes during “It doesn’t really matter what chords I play” are especially brilliant under that line, because he is implementing what I think is the most complex and ambitious progression in the entire Beatles canon, barring a few standouts like Being For The Benefit of Mr. Kite and Penny Lane .

‘OANS’ is very clever in deliberately running itself down and coming across as being a joke – which it was. It’s very much George’s sense of humour.

@HeyJules: I agree with you about Bungalow Bill. I always cringe when Yoko’s line comes up. Disagree about Hello Goodbye though,I love that one
Does Ob La Di Ob La Da deserve a mention in this thread also……?

How could you say those are bad? And Mr Moonlight isn’t awful either… You’ve picked some pretty suspicious mates!

You’ve got some interesting friends. The only song out of those that isn’t up to scratch is Hold Me Tight . But I do understand their dislike for Love Me Do and Maggie Mae .

I know right? They’re not as ‘into’ the Beatles as me,but I agree with you lads, some of their choices are strange, but at least it’s got us debating, which is always good.

To me, The Beatles are the only artist to have a perfect career. (Not even Prince could accomplish this) so when i say something is the worst Beatles song, i still like it.
But if i were to pick it would be You Like Me Too Much . Not a bad song but i often feel it is forgettable compared to the other songs on the Help ! album

Because is a terrible choice for worst Beatles song. I’d even go as far as to say it’s underrated. Simple lyrics and jaw dropping harmony.

Because is utterly beautiful and should never even be mentioned in this thread except as an example of everything this thread isn’t about.
