Did i mention that ‘Revolution 9 ‘ isnt a song, its a sound-collage?I dont know why but its one of those that bugs me – that’s calling it a song. Sorry.
Agreed.
That’s it.
Oh, except yes to everything @Jolly Jimmy had to say about Hey Jude , except that I only like the first half (yes, repeating myself nine times).

How ironic that Linde should mention All Around The World by Oasis. I was just listening to it yesterday and thought it would fit.
I know that Oasis were big time Beatle fans. It made me think that maybe they were trying to emulate Hey Jude on that track.
If you want to count long monotonous instrumentals, I would add “Invocation and Ritual Dance Of The Young Pumpkin” on The Mothers Of Invention’s second album. It goes on for almost 7-8 minutes. If they just did a tape loop repeating about 30 seconds of the song, it would sound exactly the same.
I guess it would be appropriate to mention a pumpkin song in late October.

Okay, there are 23 pages with comments for this subject, and no, I didn’t read all of them – nor will I. So anyone who wants to count how many times my choice for worst tune is, tally them up and then we’ll all know.
The one I absolutely can’t stand (and it’s hard to say that about the vast majority of Beatles songs) is “The Inner Light “, and here’s why: although the lyrics may have seemed like profound revelations back when this was slapped on the back of the “Lady Madonna ” single, it doesn’t matter because the audio quality of that track sounds HORRRRRRRRRRIBLE on any sound system you play it on. I have recorded some crappy bands I’ve jammed with in a garage using a ’60s-era cassette recorder that sound better than that.
You can’t blame the Indian instruments and percussion for the lapse in fidelity, because there is a treasure trove of recordings of Indian music that sound just fine. And there was no problem with the orchestration of “Within You Without You “, so let’s just face it – it was horribly recorded, the sitar playing was mediocre noodling, the percussion performance sounds like toddlers banging on pots and pans in somebody’s kitchen – and the composition itself isn’t anything to write home about. If you look up “throwaway,” you’ll find a note: See “The Inner Light .”
In the event that “The Inner Light ” is unable to serve out its term, the first runner-up will assume the duties, and that would be “You Know My Name (Look Up the Number)” – can anybody tell me what the lyrics are for that one? I can’t find them printed anywhere!

The Beatles are my favourite band and i’m a huge fan. But even i do understand that they made their share of awful/bad songs.
I would say:
Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da
I truly hate this song. And i don’t get how some people can claim this one as one of “Beatles finest”. It’s not. Not according to me atleast.
It’s even worse than Wild Honey Pie . And Wild Honey Pie isn’t good either. This is just plain awful.
The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill
I liked this the first time i’ve listened to The White Album . And that was a while ago, and today, after i’ve listened to that album hundreds of times i hate this song. Also i found out that Yoko sang on it. Which made me hate it even more.
Pointless experimental filler.
Never understood why people like this one.
I’m sorry for this but this song is bad. I love early Beatles. Please Please Me for example is an incredible song. This song isn’t. It’s really bad and the only one of their US chart topper i do not love.
It’s not good. Simple as that.
Another White Album track. I love that album. But it had some awful songs. This one is just boring.
I might have forgotten a few bad songs but this is it for now.
And no i won’t list Revolution 9 on here. It’s a scary but interesting track.

Birthday is old school rock & roll! I love that song.
One song i’ve never been into is Think For Yourself . Its kind of a pessimistic song, and overall I find it a little bit intense for where it falls in Rubber Soul . However its still a good song. I honestly can’t think of any bad songs that the wrote themselves.

Is your computer unable to form the words ‘I think’? Because you’re stating these ‘bad’ songs as facts, even though it’s just your opinion. You might want to work on that. Just some friendly advice.
Also, my opinion differs from yours. I quite like some of the songs you named, and I think Ob-La-Di is a cracker. I’ve always loved that one.

I think it’s been stated before that what someone posts is their opinion. (Just like that you say you love that song, thats your opinion) Having to put ‘I think’ before every bad* opinion especially seems like a waste of time and space.
*I say bad because I don’t see anyone start jumping down someone’s throat if it’s an opinion they personally agree on.

Yes. What Evangelicalina said. They are the person saying it, so it is already implied that it is their opinion. Stating “in my opinion” every time you are voicing an opinion is both redundant and infantile.

I was stating my opinion of course. Sorry if it seemed like i was stating facts. But i kinda thought everyone would get that i was talking about my opinions. (Also i understand that i might have seemed a bit negative. But those were pretty much the only Beatles songs i disliked. And i can get that some people like Ob-La-Di. But i will never understand how people can compare it to A Day In The Life or While My Guitar Gently Weeps in order of quality.

I haven’t read every page but I’m surely not the first to mention Maxwell’s Silver Hammer ? I find the song irritating and I can understand how it might have tipped Lennon over the edge. I was going to post this in the “Paul’s Granny S**t” thread as I’m sure it’s one that Lennon meant.

I don’t think there is a bad Beatles song. I love them all. Honestly I’d rather listen to Revolution 9 , over a lot of the music today.

Of course every post in a thread such as this is opinion. Everybody has the right to challenge another’s opinion, and to challenge it with their own bias. If somebody believes that something said in an opinion thread isn’t an opinion, I think you’re fooling yourself…
There is no empirical evidence of the worst, or the best, Beatles song(s), just our own opinions, our own judgements.
Writing “I think” at the beginning of every sentence that offers opinion is silly. Most of what I say about anything, including those bits of my life I choose to comment on, are opinion…
Can I say I had a bad day, or do I have to say that I think I had a bad day? After all, somebody else might feel I had a better day than I do.
Facts are few and far between.
You’ll recognise a fact when you see it, a questionable, and an opinion.
Let’s not bog everybody down with having to state which they’re offering to the conversation for fear of needlessly being criticised.
In the instance cited above, I had no need to have it pointed out that it was opinion, and there was nothing about it that made me think it was fact.
I like opinions. This forum would be worth less without them.
That is a fact!

True. I mean i dislike some songs. Like Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da but it’s still better than most music out there. What i’m trying to say is that if i call a Beatle song bad it is compared to songs like A Day In The Life . I still Think that “bad” song is a masterpiece. Even Wild Honey Pie .

I used to compare songs to the standard set by A Day In The Life , then I realized I could only stand to listen to two or three songs based on that comparison, so I had to lower the standards.

I have ranked all The Beatles songs (same songs as in “The Beatles Bible 2015 Canon Poll”), from my favourite to my least favourite song, and the bottom five songs in my list are the following:
216. She’s a Woman
217. Kansas City /Hey Hey Hey
218. Lovely Rita
219. Wild Honey Pie
220. The Run-Out Groove
What they all have in common is that they don’t touch me emotionally, and they also annoy me a little. The sixth song from the bottom is Do You Want To Know A Secret , which I like much more than the five listed above.
