‘Long, Long, Long ,’ is a fantastic song if for nothing else the drums that scare the living crap if you have the volume a touch too low and aren’t paying attention. However the lyrics are fabulous, George’s vocal wonderful and that ending.
@glazball, i dont skip Beatles tracks when listening to full albums but there are one’s i will if not like ‘Across The Universe ‘ (the two main mixes (‘Let It Be ‘, ‘Past Masters ‘) suck) and ‘Good Night ‘.

I think I deemed ‘Long Long, Sad eyed lady of the lowland Long’ as turgid………It still sort of is but I’m trying to appreciate it. I’m afraid I skip all of George’s songs on the White Album bar the wonderful WMGGW.
We have what we have and I’m not one to consider changing it but Sour Milk Sea and Not guilty should have gotten on if Truffle and Piggies were afforded a place. As for ‘LLL’ ……I’m getting slowly into ‘turge’.
Rev 9 is the worst ‘song’ there shouldn’t be any debate about that……..I hate it……….and blame ‘you know who’ for how it besmirches and disfigures this classic album….BUT…….It’s there and at least it’s existence makes answering the topic’s central question, ‘easy peasy Japanesey’

When I retired they made a video for me……..It opened to Paperback Writer …….And for the closing ‘credits’ TLAWR played behind still images of my ‘workplace’, colleagues and ‘customers’….
Bloody got to me……Glad there was no one between me and the screen to see me tear-up.
A great song Paul.

The Spector ‘TWALR’ is way overproduced, strip it back to whats on ‘Anthology 3 ‘ and its nice, not great but miles better than the commercial version. The take on ‘Let It Be Naked’ has by Billy Preston – what the hell is that? Dire, lame, embarrassing, weak are all words that come to mind.
Re the Harrisongs on ‘The White Album ‘: ‘Savoy Truffle ‘ is decent without being anything to get excited about; the bite to the track with the guitar solo and the saxophones make it into something I can listen to happily enough. ‘Piggies ‘ is a fun track which works perfectly where it is. George must have liked the song enough to dig it out for his concerts in 1991/92 whilst omitting other material (no ‘I, Me, Mine’ which would have rocked done live).

I Me Mine is one of his very best.
We can agree to disagree about the rest.
But I stress I wouldn’t be without any Beatles tune………..Even that, ‘bucket of festering puss’ Rev 9…….. Some people love it so keep it.

I forget Long Long Long five minutes after playing it so it must not rank high or low for me.

I really like Blue Jay Way . While it’s not one of George’s best songs by any means, I quite enjoy it. I like the creepy vibe, the drums, the cello’s..

Long Long Long and Blue Jay Way are both good songs, I like the calmness of LLL and then the end’s craziness.
Also Blue Jay Way ‘s cellos are great and the hypnotic nightmare-atmosphere that George’s vocals and the instruments create, it is definitely one of the more “out there” Beatles tracks

YES. Whenever I turn on the 1 album I will turn it off before that track comes on, being that it’s last I believe.

Not one I really like – personally I find it rather dull, though I like the “vibe”.

Not my worst song, but I remember when my brother first bought Sgt. Pepper when it first came out, both he and my sister hated Within You Without You . I think the pure Indian sounds were too much for teenage ears not ready for them. In fact, when he later taped the record onto a cassette, he skipped the song.

Not too sure about 1 least favorite, but my 2 of them would have to be The Long And Winding Road and Revolution 9 . I just think TLAWR is too slow for me, and I normally skip it. Revolution 9 , I don’t mind, but I couldn’t have it on repeat for days straight.
