Honestly, I really do like Revolution 9 a lot, but since it’s more a collection of noise than a melody, I’d call it the worst song, since it doesn’t quite manage to be a song. Unless that disqualifies it from this entirely.

I don’t find any of the slower songs particularly boring. The only two songs I always just immediately press skip on is Wild Honey Pie and Rocky Raccoon .

As noted in another thread I rarely skip tracks, it breaks up the flow of the album for me. The only time I ever do it is if it is late at night and I just want a bit of music before snoozing, or on ‘Greatest Hits’ type compilations where there isn’t any sort of flow anyway.

Same here. I am pretty religious about playing albums through; it messes up my precious track progressions otherwise. I guard my track progressions like a mother bird would her chicks.

My simple philosophy with music is if you don’t like it, don’t listen to it. Be it an artist, an album or one individual song. Most of my favourite songs are in their own 15 hour playlist so I can just hit play and enjoy. Because of this I think of the songs individually, not the albums flow. Maybe I should dig out my LP and play it. Less temptation to skip then.

Especially on Pepper and Abbey Road . Especially especially on Abbey Road . But that’s understandable, right? I mean, it sounds so weird to just play, for example, Polythene Pam . It cuts off so abruptly.

To each his own and all, but I really don’t understand why someone would even bother skipping past a track that’s only fifty seconds long.

There’s more redeeming features in Wild Honey Pie than Why Don’t We Do It In The Road.
The Beatles are English - They have influences from all over - but they are English

Honestly, I don’t really mind either of these. They seem like humorous little ditties that were the product of them (Paul mostly, right?) having fun.

StarrisonSubmarine muttered self-depreciatingly
I’m terribly sorry I’m an idiot and listen to the Beatles records incorrectly.
Ah, don’t thrash ye’self, @StarrisonSubmarine. Every Beatlemaniac has their own way of enjoying the Beatles, whether they put their iPod on shuffle and let it wash through their dreams at night, or devote an entire afternoon every day to carefully listening to all the UK releases on vinyl in chronological order. (Well, I doubt anyone actually does that, but you get the idea.) Now, I do it my way, which is my way of being a Beatlemaniac, and you do it your way, which is your way of being a Beatlemaniac. The point is we’re both Beatlemaniacs. After all, I am he as you are he and you are me and we are All Together Now . So, apples and peace&love.
I try to play ’em all, whether I like them or not, and I get used to them after a while and some songs I started out disliking are now my favourites. Because really, when it comes to the Beatles, I can’t truly dislike any of them. But THAT’S JUST ME, PEOPLE…….
Anyway, back to
And again, for me, there are no bad Beatlesongs. Some are just better than others.

I don’t think anyone was suggesting that? Just noting different preferences for how we listen to our music.

I can see what you are saying, and certainly respect that. What I have found though is that some of my (now) favourite songs have only become that way after listening to them a number of times. It’s also interesting what you said about LPs, I reckon less people jump up and skip tracks with them. Playlists are fun as well, gives us a chance to improve on the original running order.
Umm, have I gone off track again?

Well, from what I got it was all a case of “omg ha ha ha skipping! Playing only certain songs! What a complete idiot newbie! Lets all point out this.”
It was a throw away comment that came after the actual post relevant to the thread. To focus on that instead of the actual relevant subject matter has, in fact made me feel like a proper idiot and whatever fun was going on with me here is dwindling.
I’ll be very careful about what I’ll be posting in the future, if at all.

I was just agreeing with @trcanberra, because we think alike as regards album-listening. I agree we should rerail now. (Is that even a word????)

Please, do stick around, @StarrisonSubmarine. We enjoy your company. Have an apple.
So like I said, back on topic. I will be leaving this particular thread because I don’t think there is a worst Beatles’ song– if I try to pick one out, I immediately find a redeeming feature! So have fun thrashing Numbah Nine and Wild Honey Paaaaiiiiiiieeeeeh, everybody.

Sorry if you got that impression, it was certainly not what I meant. It can be hard to pick up the intent behind posts on the internet but I would be a very sad panda if anything I have said has made you feel uncomfortable here.
