Nah, it’s not the most profound or sophisticated song ever, but it’s fun. Like Yellow Submarine .

Nothing wrong with light-hearted songs every Now And Then .
I have a lot of fun playing the opening and closing guitar licks.

Anna (go to him) is probably my least favorite cover of theirs out of the ones I have herd so far.

Is it wrong to enter into the world of the Anthologies and nominate Whats The New Mary Jane and Not Guilty (solely the Anthology edit and remix, not the actual song)?

Wrong? I’m totally aghast (wink).
If the Beatles themselves didn’t consider a recording worthy of release, IMO it’s not fair to pass judgment in the negative.

I have to disagree as I like the original versions of What’s The New Mary Jane and Not Guilty . The Anthology edit of Mary Jane I found it as unnecessary but as an interesting alternative too though not better than the original.
I am not sure which song is the least good, as for me, there is no worst Beatles track; all their tracks are legendary and the least good ones are the best that many other bands can do.
For me, If You’ve Got Troubles is their least good song they ever did , though it is still catchy and I listen it in its original version, not the altered verses version that was done and released for Anthology.
Mr. Moonlight (This is their least good cover, though it is catchy too, and I listen it from time to time).
Wild Honey Pie (It’s catchy but this one could have been replaced with Not Guilty or What’s The New Mary Jane ?)
The inclusion of Maggie Mae on Let It Be is distracting for me, but it is catchy too, and I love Dig It , but the short version that was released is distracting too.

If You Got Trouble weren’t edited for Anthology 2 , it was horribly edited for Sessions (see below) – but thankfully wasn’t one of the horror shows Apple picked off the floor and shoved on the series without much thought. One they got right.

I can’t stand “Why Don’t We Do It In The Road’. It’s slightly catchy but completely pointless, and my friends and I are always speculating about why it was put onto an album in the first place. Too repetitive.

Oh weird, I thought the Sessions one was used on Anthology, but it seems that not. Oh man, I have been hearing the wrong version the whole time!

It is a bit repetitive, but I quite like it. I only lasts, what, 90 seconds? That’s enough, admittedly. I suppose they put it on for the same reason other ones, like Rocky Raccooon, Good Night , etc. were put on. Because they (he?) could, and they wanted to.

Very interesting…
I disagree that Octopus’s Garden is in the same league as Yellow Submarine . They are simlilar in approach but the latter is a much better song and the arrangement more varied. YS is anyway the weaker song in Revolver .
I disagree even more with including What’s The New Mary Jane . This is a fine artifact, an extravagaza from John with great lyrics. I have to listen more closely to the different versions but I like the short ones better.

Lets get this one out of the way: Revolution 9 played backwards
In fact anything forensically examined to support some conspiricy
The songs are all strong enough in their true form without attempting to cast some shadow over them.

Here! Here! I’ll put your idea in the form of a motion. I’ll take your post as a second to the motion. All in favor say “aye”. Any opposed. No. I didn’t think there would be. Let it be that no Beatles tracks will have a shadow cast over them. Adjourned.
Their music is so strong, people just clicking around on YouTube find our boys and become mesmerized (witness several of our new forum posters).

Los Paranoias!!!
In reality, I don’t there can ever truly be a ‘worst’ Beatles song because of people’s different musical preferences. I personally think What’s The New Mary Jane is amazing, even though I know many people on here might disagree with me. I think that the worst Beatles song is different for everybody, just like favorite Beatles song. A few people will probably agree with each other, but not everyone. There’s many different people that each have a favorite song/favorite songs, and it’s the same way for the worst Beatles song.
I got to say, in my opinion, I think it’s Los Paranoias.
