Sunii's obviously pretty young! (And not Canadian.) That song's godawful, but someone could assemble a real nice Greatest Hits collection out of his 1979-1985 output.
Let me rephrase that: It's the only song SUNI knows him for.
And it really isn't that bad. The reason I don't like the song is because it has been WAY over-played.

In My Life for sure. It's lyrics are so fitting for the end of the road.
And in her eyes you see nothing, No sign of love behind the tears, Cried for no one, A love that should have lasted years.

…What he said!
That definitely deserves a smiley face.

In My Life . Ellie and I have agreed to have the following on a joint gravestone:
“And in the end
The love you take
Is equal to the love you make”
Can I clarify this a little? I think I've mentioned it before as well, but the stereo version of In My Life has the instruments and vocals mostly separated. The left speaker wasn't working once and all I heard were the vocals (plus the instruments faintly in the background) in the right. It sounds great.
I'd like, if it's possible, to have an a capella version of In My Life played at my funeral, like Because at the beginning of the Love album. I suppose they could just turn off the left channel, but does anyone have the technical know-how to isolate just the vocals?
I presume it's a matter of sampling the left-hand channel, then filtering out the instruments which bleed into the right channel. Anyway, if anyone can do this please post a sound file – I'll be (literally) eternally grateful.
EDIT I think the mostly-isolated vocals are on the original 1965 stereo mix, which is included in the Mono box set, rather than in the stereo box. But I was listening to the Capitol Albums Vol 2 when I first got the idea.

OK, found these multitrack stems from Rock Band. Will give it a go now. Apparently they can be opened in Audacity.

I've just been playing around with In My Life and A Day In The Life . Oh my. Seriously, everyone, stop reading this, download Audacity (if you don't already have it) then grab these files. Absolutely incredible.

Oh, it's also worth noting that during the solo in In My Life , if you isolate the vocals, you can hear Paul(?) singing quietly “Oh, I know I never will forget you, ever”

In My Life is the most popular choice – I am no exception. Sometime between now and my dirt nap, I want to put together a video presentation to be played at my celebration of life.
I envision pictures of everyone I've ever gone to school with (from class photos) or ever had my picture taken with flashing by with each note/word of the song.
At the end, with “In myyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy life, I loved you more” would be a picture of my beautiful wife.
Joe – the “In the End” bit on the tombstones….lovely, just lovely.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

I didn't want to derail this thread any more (sorry about that), so I created a separate one to discuss the Rock Band multitrack files.
