I am wondering, if United Artists in the US secured the rights to all the songs from the film A Hard Day’s Night , how did A Hard Day’s Night / I Should Have Known Better and And I Love Her / If I Fell as well as I’m Happy Just To Dance With You wind up on as singles in that same year in the US?  And if Capital could issue them as singles, why did only And I Love Her wind up on the Something New album of that same year?

These are the things that keep me up at night.a-hard-days-night-ringo-14

Welcome @Ognir, this article answers most of your questions. It mostly comes down to Epstein making separate deals for the same songs.

Believe me @Ognir, in 1964 these things kept me up at night as well. My allowance was $0.50 per week back then, which was considered generous. In general, singles cost $0.49, mono albums $2.99 and stereo $3.99. It was not easy to navigate the best bang for your limited resources with so much material being released and no information as to the source or future releases. I somehow decided my best bet was to get the Hard Days Night soundtrack album. It was a little disturbing attempting to listen to this record all the way through, as every other song sounded like this george-martin
