OK, I have a theory. It goes like this: Every song that has ever been listened to has someone who will swear on a Bible (a Beatles Bible, perhaps?) that that song is their favorite song in the world. That's the clearest I can state it.
But I'm not totally sure. Is there anyone who actually likes the closing track of Rubber Soul ? I'm under a self-imposed oath to never speak the title of that song.
So the “rule” of this thread is that if you see a song mentioned that you love, you have to say so, and then come up with a song you despise.
I hope that makes sense.

Actually, quite a few people like that song. I do and I don't. It was a slap in the face when I found out it was a Beatles' song.
Going by your own rules, you still need to list a song you love.
LOVE: Nothin' Shakin' at the moment. Ask again later.
“Hate”: Not feeling I Need You . It's the Bwa Bwa noise I think.
Ad hoc, ad loc, and quid pro quo! So little time! So much to know!

Oh I totally agree with you, that is the worst Beatles guitar song ever. I'm still not sure I understand this thread, but I actually do like Run For Your Life , not lyrically but musically, and John's voice is really good on it. Song that I love right now…Rain . Song that I don't really care for right now…You Like Me Too Much .

Wait ! I must say now and here that music and lyrics are two different things for me, music being absolutely preeminent. “that killing song” is a good country-rock song, leaving the lyrics apart.
I'd like to say "thank you" on behalf of the group and ourselves and I hope we passed the audition.

That made me think of them performing it like this: Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo, etc.
A song I love, but is underrated, is “I'll Get You.” At first, listening to it on Past Masters , I disliked it. Man, I was a jerk six months ago! But when I really listened to it, I found that it is actually quite a nice song. I'm kind of like that: I don't always like songs when I hear them the first time, but after I “warm up” to them, I enjoy listening to them.
A quasi-humorous story about “You Can't Do That:” My brother Polythene Dan (not his real name) said, “How can you like this song but the Song that Shall Not be Named (sounds like the anti-Voldemort taboo in Harry Potter, I know)?” I replied, “Because it doesn't refer to KILLING the girl.” PD: “How about 'Maxwell's Silver Hammer?'” Me: “It isn't in the first person.” On and on. Anyone who has had a younger brother knows how long this went on.

Agreement here too: George definitely should've practiced using the volume pedal before recording with it. (And yet he apparently recorded “Yes It Is ” the same day and employs the pedal masterfully in that one, so go figure…)
Actually, neither of George's “Help !” contributions really impress me much.
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

Gah! My “Quote” button is not working.
Von Bontee: I like “You Like Me Too Much ” more than “I Need You .” Is that on piano? George's Help ! songs may not be the best he wrote, but they're OK by me. At least he picks up with “Think For Yourself .”

Which is why I don't out and out hate it. I love how we're not naming the song.

Actually after paying close attention to that song, I decided to like the music only. But I have a nice story about it, my boss said the first line of the chorus because I was running late for work. It was nice that he quoted me a Beatles song, even if it was that one.
He quoted that one. Actually he quotes it a lot. I hope he doesn't mean it.
Love : The song where George asks us to be careful with our diet, especially our sweets.
Hate : Mh. Dunno.
(PS Am I supposed to not mention only the song .. well you know which one or my favorite too? This is confusing!!
Here comes the sun….. Scoobie-doobie……

I don't like the Ringo song on said album… or the one before the French one which is before the Ringo song…? They're both kinda annoying. I like the killing song though! I mean, it's not my favorite, but it's okay. I also like the one by George, on the album of which on the cover they're dressed in blue, with the piano intro. And I like the other George song on that one too! Why all the hate towards George?
And I liked the one about the medicine man who kills people with a heavy tool until I saw that one comedian with white hair do it in that one horrible movie starring that one hot guy whose initials are PF.
Did any of that make sense? It didn't to me…
I'm in love, but I'm lazy.

Do you mean Track 6, which is the one before the French one, or track 7, the French one?
The medicine man on Abbey Road ? My dad used to like it, until he actually listened to the lyrics. I can't believe John called it “Paul's granny music.” I wouldn't feel comfortable having MY granny listening to it (at least in the same car).

BUT, since I started the thread, I'll wait for other “Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except for Me and My Monkey” lovers to post….
