For some reason, I really like Paul’s backing vocals in the chorus, especially the last line. Also, I’ve noticed that Paul goes to play the verse bassline when the chorus repeats itself, and then realises and switches. It’s at about 1:55.

I’ve always liked this song alot, but it is easy to overlook on arguably the greatest album of all time. I like the two different bass lines and the maracas. George was starting to come into his own as a songwriter and this song is a good precurser to Taxman .

It’s a fine tune, and I mean fine as really good. Compared to some of their other works it’s not to notable, but it’s worth a listen, or two, or three, or four, or… you got me?
When I Twish And Shout, it makes the Girl say "What Goes On?", and than I say, "I do this Here, There and Everywhere", and than she finishes by saying "Honey Don't".

I like its position in Rubber Soul . And the lyrics… a bit bitter uh George???
Here comes the sun….. Scoobie-doobie……
Something in the way she moves…..attracts me like a cauliflower…
Bop. Bop, cat bop. Go, Johnny, Go.

Somewhere on YouTube there's a video pertaining to the Jesus/Beatles controversy where girls are saying they can no longer appreciate the Beatles if they're making claims they're bigger than Jesus, but there was one girl in that clip who specifically said she could reconcile her love for Jesus with her love of The Beatles, and she actually said “I like to Think For Myself.” — at least that's the image I had in my head when I heard her say that. Really smart girl, and not because she's possibly a George fan. 🙂

Oh that's interesting.
If you take the title is a good advice. But every time I hear the chorus :
I've got a word or two
To say about the things that you do
You're telling all those lies
About the good things that we can have
If we close our eyes
But the rest is optimistic. But that start…. I don't say it's wrong. I love sarcastic George.

As do I. I've mentioned before that I really like the contrast between the fuzzy guitar at the close of this one and the clean piano sound at the beginning of The Word .
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

That's not the chorus! That's the first verse!

If I seem to act unkind, it's only me, it's not my mind that is confusing things.

I love this song, and I would say that this song's definitely in George's top 5 Beatles songs! I like the message in it too, even though the one I get from it might not be the one George was intending to give!

Love this song too, but it dismays me to realize that the only instrument I ever really pay attention to is the fuzz bass – I have very little notion what the other guitars play! And I think there's even an organ in there that's virtually inaudible…
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.
