They should have removed Wild Honey Pie , Why Don’t We Do It In the Road and Revolution 9 from the White Album and they should have released the Glyn Johns version of Let It Be rather than hiring Phil Spector to make unnecessary changes to the songs.

Which one? Some of the versions he chose are far inferior to what we got in the end (eg Don’t Let Me Down , I’ve Got A Feeling ) and any album that omits a 4 1/2 minute Dig It and a half-arsed rendition of Teddy Boy should get extra marks.

Only agree with Revolution 9 , which whatever people may defend as “a piece of avant garde artistry”, they haven’t listened to more than 5 times and probably skip it when listening to The White Album . Not Guilty and (if it was written at this point, I’m not sure) All Things Must Pass would’ve fit in the space taken up by a 9 minute collage of noise that doesn’t belong on a music album.

I think that Wild Honey Pie is worse than Revolution 9 and should be the one taken off

What would you define as music?

Something having a beat and melody, neither of which Revolution 9 contains.

What aboit the Piano in the begining aint that melody and even if Revolution 9 ain’t no song it is still better than Wild Honey Pie

For me Revolution 9 is a very important part of the White Album , without it it would be a much lesser LP as it throws out the concept of music that many hold up as being the standard. Whether you like it or not it is still as much music as She Loves You or Bohemian Rhapsody.
I dont listen to it very often but i much prefer it to Good Night which i find to be too saccharine. There is always something new in there with repeat listenings.

I concur
I wish that they hadn’t faded out Every Little Thing . It has such a nice ending anyway, and it doesn’t sound as satisfying to me. There’s some Other Little Things

I wish they hadn’t recorded any covers on Beatles For Sale . The originals on that album are perfect, but the covers bring it down.
I wish they recorded Come Together with more predominant guitars.
I wish Across The Universe was not on Let It Be , and was released as a single with Hey Bulldog as the b-side between Lady Madonna & Hey Jude .
I wish they never recorded When I’m Sixty-Four and Honey Pie .
I wish the bass was more prominent on the early albums.
I wish they never destroyed the tapes for She Loves You – to hear that in stereo would be AWESOME.
Yeah, that’s the main points. The Beatles are perfect really.
