I always hear “Never to see any other way” as if after listening to the album you will see things differently.
Yes, pretty much what I hear, except I hear “Never CAN see any other way”. 🙂
Then once people said they heard “We’ll f**k you like supermen” I hear that too. Haha!

See, I hear “I never could see any other”.
And do you listen a lot to the Inner Groove backwards, @The Hippie Chick?
The obscene version is only heard when played backwards.

Haha yep, both ways, forward and backward. It’s been so long since I listened to the run out groove though. This video… I’m definitely hearing “I couldn’t see any other way.” And backward, on that, I hear “We will f**k you like you’re superman.” LOL

I actually always(until I read other interpretations) heard something like, “Hold the wine, ever ??coosey?? dovey”. Maybe that’s just me.

By the early ’70s the 20,000 Hertz tone (or whatever it is) and the Inner Groove had both been dropped from UK pressings of the album. I got my first copy in 1981. No Inner Groove. Still have it, just double-checked my memory.

Although I’m curious if the 2009 remaster has the inner groove, since I feel like they are trying to keep the records similar to the originals.
Yes, it does. In the same way the 1987 CD does.

I know the 2009 CD has the tone and the inner groove, having listened to it multiple times. I was asking whether or not the 2009 remaster Vinyl has the tone and the inner groove. I probably should have been more specific.

As it appears on the 2009 vinyl, it is not the 2 seconds in the inner groove, they add the “locked groove” version that was created for the CD/digital release. There is also a completely analogue version of the “locked groove” that was created for the 2014 mono vinyl remaster.

By the way, the pitch of that tone is something approximating 15400hz. And I believe that is the only useful tidbit of information I can contribute to this conversation.

If the CD has it then the vinyl must have it, I didn’t even know CD’s could have inner grooves until now.
Presumably it’s just a hidden track looped.

Weird thing – the 6 May 1967 issue of Billboard has a little pre-release ad with an English address for ordering import copies of the “new 14-track Beatles album”
https://books.google.ca/books?…..38;f=false
I wonder if that’s a mistake or if the inner groove was considered a 14th track?

Details of the album were just emerging at the end of April, @vonbontee, which is when I’d guess that ad was booked, and I’d suggest the vendor doesn’t know the details but wants to get his ad, so assumes 14 tracks as they generally were 14 tracks.

Yeah, I would say they assumed the album would have 14 songs as all Beatles albums except for A Hard Day’s Night had 14 songs up until that point unless Only A Northern Song was still in contention?
Before I had heard the Pepper album I was familiar with the version on the Blue Album so I didn’t know the album version had the crowd noise at the start and the inner groove at the end.
I was more surprised then scared when I heard it the first time but I thought it was interesting and I like it’s placement on the album.
You can always listen to the Blue Album version if you don’t want to hear the crowd noise or inner groove which as @meanmistermustard mentioned is ideal for playlists.
I hear “Never to see any other way, bye-bye” when it is played forward and “something something Superman” when it is played backwards.
And in the end the lunch you take is equal to the lunch you bake.

We were watching a concert by the Analogues the other day (not just a Beatles coverband! They have gone all over the world to use the EXACT same instruments to play Sgt. Pepper integral on stage0 and at the end the inner groove also came on. My dad never heard it, apparently and almost fell out of his chair.
