@IveJustSeenAFaceo If you want comment and discussion to be reserved for another place, why are you making your own comments on what you think of the list in this thread? Surely you should be just listing the results here, and posting your thoughts as part of the discussion in the other thread?

@Ron Nasty Mostly because just a plain list is kind of boring.

@IveJustSeenAFaceo That is a matter of opinion. I would rather read a plain list, and see it debated elsewhere, than read it with just one person’s opinions tagged on, while being told I need go elsewhere to make identical comments. Your comments should be somewhere you don’t mind them debated, not somewhere you’ve asked us not to debate the merits of the list.

@IveJustSeenAFaceo I kind of agree, it clutters the list.

I find it odd that folk are asking for him to not do it as they have to go all the way to another thread to express their opinion on the results. Gee’s! Personally I was enjoying reading Faceo’s comments along with the results as it stopped the list being a simple list. Bang goes that bit of fun.

OK, I’m gonna do it then. As long as someone’s enjoying it.
Good. Delighted to hear.

Too bad I already went through and deleted the other ones. That was dumb. I’ll just go back and add them again.
Anyway, here’s tonight’s!
170. Yes It Is (Ticket To Ride B-Side. Beautiful guitar swells and gripping chorus)
169. Love Me Do (A-Side of first single they ever released. Fairly simple, but nice and cheerful)
168. The Long And Winding Road (The Long And Boring Song, to quote everyone who doesn’t like this. Which definitely includes me. The Spector production was the only thing that actually made it listenable)
167. Ask Me Why (Middling Please Please Me track. Unremarkable)
166. I’ll Be Back (A Hard Day’s Night closer that does’t quite live up to the opening)
165. Don’t Pass Me By (the lesser of Ringo’s two compositions, in the works for years before appearing on The White Album )
164. Baby It’s You (one of the last four covers standing (as nicely found out by @nzbeatlefan) topples. Might be a while for the rest of the remaining ones)
163. Thank You Girl (extremely annoying “ohs” at the beginning and a moderately catchy chorus)
162. Tell Me What You See (Nicely catchy song)
161. Misery (another unremarkable Please Please Me track)
OK, that’s it for today!

Here’s today, super late because I forgot with all the trolling. Sorry about that.
160. I’m Happy Just To Dance With You (fun, innocent George number. Got a nice sequence in A Hard Day’s Night )
159. Bad Boy (unremarkable cover with nice vocal)
158. What You’re Doing (Nooooo!!! I love this song. Fantastic 12 String riff, great intro, fantastic fusion on LOVE, what’s not awesome about this?)
157. Roll Over Beethoven (and only two covers remained!)
156. Maxwell’s Silver Hammer (cheerful number gets really disturbing when you listen to the lyrics)
155. I’ll Get You (more annoying “o”s to open)
154. Do You Want To Know A Secret (short but fun Please Please Me track)
153. I Don’t Want To Spoil The Party (sorry, but how is this better than What You’re Doing at all)
152. Blue Jay Way (as mentioned elsewhere today, not one of my favorites. Way too slow, though the drums are nice)
151. When I Get Home (mildly threatening John piece. I like the “cows come home” line, for the record)
So there’s today (almost tomorrow). Really sorry for the lateness, I’ll try to be earlier tomorrow.

Hey, it’s still today in England for once!
150. Not A Second Time (I like this. Not much else to say. From With The Beatles )
149. Don’t Bother Me (George’s first original, another one I like. Also from With The Beatles )
148. Please Mister Postman (Yet another With The Beatles track. Also, to no one’s surprise, cements Twist And Shout as the top ranked cover)
147. Mother Nature’s Son (Along with Rocky Raccoon , often forgotten (by me at least), fairly boring, Paul penned White Album cut)
146. Long, Long, Long (First With The Beatles hit consecutively, now The White Album . Better than Piggies , worse than WMGGW in terms of George’s songs from the album)
145. Tell Me Why (one of the first Beatles songs I really loved)
144. One After 909 (Kind of boring on Let It Be , I prefer the Anthology version. Good anyway, nice Danny Boy bit at the end)
143. Michelle (OK, this one’s a surprise. I mean, I don’t like it, but I was under the impression a lot of people did. Huh.)
142. I Call Your Name (only original on the Long Tall Sally EP.)
141. Dig A Pony (another surprise, I’m a big fan of it, got a nice live rough song.
Hey, I was on time today! See you tomorrow!

Wow, I just hooked up with this thread – I wish I had been here for the voting! It’s amazing how some of my faves came in so low (One After 909 being the primary culprit – i love the tune, and the fact that they wrote and played it almost 10 years before finally releasing it intrigues me). I agree the earlier live performances are better. It’s a highlight of their early stuff, imo.
Looking forward to seeing the rest of the results!
