=91 (183*, 7.32) Birthday
=91 (183*, 7.32) Hello Goodbye
Not much to comment on here, except that I feel like all of these bar one or two should be at least a bit higher. Disappointed Mean Mister Mustard isn’t higher, likewise with And I Love Her , but I’m very surprised at some of the very popular tracks (HG, B, 8DAW, TBOJAY, WCWIO, OG) being only in the top 45% of songs… Hello Goodbye just squeaked through with the most tens (5), and there were 35 tens given all up. I still can’t get over the fact that so many of these should be higher, then I look at an average score of 7.24, 7.28 or 7.32 and I think ‘wow, that’s a pretty good score…’ More surprises coming next round!

Don’t you seriously love We Can Work It Out ? I mean, really. Admit it. Until I saw it here in this position, I didn’t remember or realize that it was the toppermost of the poppermost. But it is
OK, maybe it’s just me. But it is really, really strong.

Harmonium, dammit!!! Even more reason to like it.

Yup the Harmonium part is great, specially in the promos where you can see John goofing around being just himself : )

Sometimes we need to make erroneous comments so that mmm and RN can correct them and elevate their self-esteem. It is just that kind of thoughtful consideration that makes the Forum such a palliative experience.

=88 (185*, 7.4) Polythene Pam
87 (186*, 7.44) Please Please Me

=78 (189*, 7.56) Yesterday
=78 (189*, 7.56) Don’t Let Me Down
=78 (189*, 7.56) If I Needed Someone
Some swill in this collection in my (very unpopular) opinion. Yer Blues , This Boy and Yesterday so high? And I Want You (She’s So Heavy) is in the top 100!!! Conversely, some utterly exquisite songs in Savoy Truffle , If I Needed Someone , and I’m Looking Through You .
Three of the songs I pinpointed as being swill were the three with the highest number of 10s: Yer Blues got 7, IWYSSH got 8, and surprise surprise, Yesterday got 9. 60 tens were given across these songs!!

Swill, she says. Harrumph!
It’s good to know at least 6 others have good taste.
The songs you tagged as exquisite truly are. If I were to be stuck on a desert island with only this latest group of songs to listen to, I may think twice about being rescued.

I agree with you on I Want You (She’s So Heavy), that song’s so long and boring, it uses only 14 words and the outro just goes on forever and just stops out of nowhere instead of having a proper ending or fade out, you’d think it’d be lower on the list. As for Yer Blues , i love that song and am very curious as to why you don’t.

I am shocked! Yesterday should be at a much lower number, top twenty at least. What is this world coming to?!

Many find it difficult to find anything about ‘IWY(SOH)’ to like. I think it’s a fantastic piece of music; John saying so much in the minimal lyrics, feel and musicianship of the song. I find it to be a major leap in the obsessional side of John which we learned of in the earlier numbers ‘Run For Your Life ‘, ‘No Reply ‘ and ‘You Can’t Do That’.

I didn’t know I got a gender change last night! *checks in the mirror*
I don’t like Yer Blues because it sounds… cramped, and like they’re putting in too much energy. The song needed less energy (and a better edit for the outro) to do it justice, if that makes sense.
Also, 12-bar blues is great, but gets boring to listen to if it isn’t executed perfectly.

I thought the Beatles Bible would give better treatment to Don’t Let Me Down . Tremendous song that is greatly appreciated by Beatles fans.
This is another great batch of songs. All so good. Those who are confused by Yesterday ‘s position, do you not know that it is one of the most beloved songs of all time.

Probably the best batch of songs in one go in my opinion. I love I Want You (She’s So Heavy) and I would probably put it in my top ten Beatles songs.
I also have a lot of love for Savoy Truffle , Long Long Long, If I Needed Someone , Please Please Me , Yer Blues and No Reply . I am also a supporter of Yesterday .
We really are getting close if these fantastic songs are making an appearance.
And in the end the lunch you take is equal to the lunch you bake.
