No liberty at all, @The Hole Got Fixed. I’m pleased you decided to investigate whether there was anything valid to my argument. I do hope you know that I haven’t just bought it up to find fault.
If I’m remembering correctly, in the last Canon poll, I excluded two sets of votes for being so incomplete that they distorted the poll. One, I think, scored up to the end of B, while another gave up around G. I decided they couldn’t be used on that basis.
Maybe the question is whether voting for six songs is enough to count, and whether we actually 25 voters?

I absolutely know you didn’t bring it up just to fault- I know you only roughy it up because you want the most accurate results possible, @Ron Nasty, and so do I.
Im more than happy to count all 26, or just the data set of 25 and constantly divide by 25.
Does anyone else have an opinion as to which method I should choose? So far, all that would change is Good Night and The Run-Out Groove.

All I’ve used is the basic average formula, so the basic workings are the same. It’s time for some more results:
210 (121*, 4.84) A Taste Of Honey
209 (123*, 4.92) Honey Don’t
208 (124*, 4.96) Slow Down
207 (120**, 5) The Run-Out Groove
=205 (126*, 5.04) Everybody’s Trying To Be My Baby
=205 (126*, 5.04) Thank You Girl
204 (128*, 5.12) Hold Me Tight
203 (135, 5.19) Good Night
202 (130*, 5.2) Ask Me Why
201 (131*, 5.24) Kansas City /Hey-Hey-HeyI’m less surprised about this round of results. In fact, the only surprises for me are Honey Don’t (which I thought would have been slightly higher), and The Run-Out Groove, which I thought would have been a scapegoat like Revolution 9 . There were nine scores of 10 given, three to the same song, and the rest were spread out.
This is a travesty.“Hold Me Tight ” is one of my very favorite Beatles songs; a 10 out of 10. I can listen to it all day on repeat. Paul’s vocal is totally out there; he really stretches it and I love it. The rhythm parts are so heavy — it oozes sex and really grooves. “A Taste Of Honey ” is gorgeous and strange; I like it better than the Lenny Welch version and rate it a solid 8. (The play & movie are great too.) “Thank You Girl ” is also underrated, should be a 7, a punky rocker I sing around my house a lot changing up the lyrics, and it’s got that great little Buddy Holly bit. I hate this poll already.

Since you asked, Hole, I personally wouldn’t count song ratings left blank as zeroes. Doesn’t seem as if that was the original intent; it would artificially lower the grades of some songs if people who did not vote for a particular song had their vote count as zero when nobody else can rate a zero. In the same vein, I would not discount an actual vote for an individual song just because the person did not put in a vote for every other song. I would take each song individually and add up its scores, then divide by the number of voters who actually voted for that particular song.
Thanks again for managing the poll!

I think I know what your intent was when you said this – I love the passion people have for their favorite Beatles songs and love even more the defending of those songs.
My growing indifference (the opposite of love is not hate – it’s indifference) toward these polls is due to the fact that there always seems to be some type of drama surrounding them.
“Which songs do we include/not include?”
“Horror of horrors! Two people left songs unrated!”
Is it really that big of a deal that some tracks received no vote? If in a voter’s mind only six songs warranted votes, that tells me the voter gave their opinion on which songs were their favorites. Isn’t that the desired result – which songs are the faves among us Forumpudlians? If the number 0 (on my planet, zero is a number) is not an option, why force someone to mark all but six as a 1? If it makes anyone sleep better at night, change all the “no votes” to a 1. To me, that is artificially manipulating the numbers. Worse, it is telling that voter that their opinion is being discounted. But I am not the poll police, so what do I know?
Personally, I left two of the choices blank. Yep – blame me for the kerfuffle over which number to use as a divisor (26? 25? 24? E=MC squared?). I left them blank because I have yet to see them listed on any of my Beatles albums/singles/EPs that supposedly make up the “canon” we were asked to rate. To me, those two entries received a rating of 0 – plain and simple. Not in my wildest dreams did I think it would cause chaos and confusion in anyone’s back yard.
Thanks again for all of the work you put in, Oh Holey One. If my not voting for some choices made this harder on you than it should have, don’t worry. I promise you it will not happen again.

We had two sets of different results being posted within months of each other for favourite forum Beatles song?!! I know there was a huge delay in Faceo getting the results out but had no idea they were so close.

Because it seems to be a pretty even split of what people would prefer me to do, let’s put it to the polls:

Thank you to everyone who helped make that decision, a fairly unanimous decision. Onwards!
=199 (134*, 5.36) Bad Boy
=199 (134*, 5.36) Chains
198 (136*, 5.44) Why Don’t We Do It In The Road
=196 (137*, 5.48) The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill
=196 (137*, 5.48) What Goes On
=194 (138*, 5.52) Boys
=194 (138*, 5.52) Act Naturally
193 (133**, 5.54) Can You Take Me Back
=189 (139*, 5.56) Her Majesty
=189 (139*, 5.56) I’ll Get You
=189 (139*, 5.56) Tell Me What You See
=189 (139*, 5.56) I Call Your Name
I’m quite surprised at most of these songs being so low, I voted favourably for most of them. Can You Take Me Back is hardly a surprise, likewise Her Majesty , they’re too short for most people to appreciate. Sad to see 3 Ringo songs in a row being so low as well. Poor old What Goes On , I’m sure mmm won’t like that result.

Wow. I thought Boys and I’ll Get You wouldn’t be seen until a lot further on into the list. I’ve always liked those two. Can’t say I’m surprised at Chains ‘ final positioning. That one has never been a particular favourite of mine.
I also agree with @sir walter raleigh. Tell Me What You See is a good track

I had “I’ll Get You ” rated far higher than the poll results, and “I Call Your Name ” far lower

I thought Bad Boy , Boys and I’ll Get You would be somewhere in the middle.
