I was going through my computer and cleaning up old files (ha, guess I don’t need my school files anymore…) and I found the 2018 BB canon poll results, which led me to…
Is there any interest for a 2020 poll? More than happy to run it!

I am looking to have another go at the non-Canon – hopefully starting it in February/March depending on working out how to split it into more manageable chunks in the hope people won’t be put off this time.

Cheers – I have your poll from 2016, which i replaced the 6 with an 8 and used for the 2018 poll
But they’re both canon polls. I think RN has a Google poll of the 2017 non-canon list.

Sure, especially after the dire results of the last poll.

We’re actually working on the non-Canon poll at the moment, @Dingle Lad. First part should be up by the end of the month.

The non-canon poll will be first.
Depending on when we finish the non-canon poll, and depending on the level of interest, the canon poll mag run towards the end of this year, or next year some time.

@Dingle Lad, why do you consider the 2018 results Dyer? I thought they were pretty cool.

you mean dire? That’s one way of putting it. I haven’t did a complete ranking from 1 – 217 in awhile. Speaking of which, now that there is a non canon (do we call it the apocrypha?) version of The Long One could you reconsider the foolish notion that it should be considered as it’s own identity whilst you consider the individual parts as well?

They continue to list it by its constituent parts on the original album, and split the medley so you can go to each individual part, giving the reason for its individual songs to be considered in their own right, while the existence and release of The Long One proves it is also right to consider the medley as a whole.
I’m not sure whether you’d want us to drop considering the songs individually or as a whole but am sure they’d be complaints if we did either as there is a strong argument for both. After all is said and done, you can’t go pleasing everyone.

Each individual song listed on the album whereas they are not listed as a medley. That should be obvious. In the apocrypha there is the Long One, and at least one version of each song on the Abbey Road Super Deluxe Edition. Two more are on the third Anthology. Therefore it is fine to consider them both together and seperately in the apocrypha. No such designation for the Medley exists in the canon. Therefore it shouldn’t be assumed as such.
I realize I’m pissing in the wind here. I have the option of not voting when it comes up. I’ll just have to do that.

Except all of them referring to it as a whole in interviews, especially John…
I liked the A side. I never liked that sort of pop opera on the other side. I think it’s junk. It was just bits of song thrown together. And I can’t remember what some of it is.
…and Paul…
…in the end, we hit upon the idea of medleying them all and giving the second side a sort of operatic structure – which was great because it used ten or twelve unfinished songs in a good way.
The reason we talk about the Abbey Road Medley is not because of how it’s listed on the sleeve, but because that was always how they spoke about it.
