That’s a shame. I’ll miss voting for songs like ‘Yesterday ‘ and ‘The Ballad Of John And Yoko ‘.

It doesn’t have to have every Beatle on it, just every Beatle alive and well, and signing it off (and, yes, Paul has expressed having problems with Spector’s Let It Be over the years, but he didn’t veto its release, which he could have done).

Okay, the cannon should be everything on the 2009 remasters except the B Side of Yellow Submarine .

Sounds good to me, as long as we don’t have to vote for Yellow Submarine and All You Need Is Love twice.

Of course it is, classical music sucks balls, especially on a rock album and considering that only 1 track has a Beatle on it (George plays tamboura on Sea Of Time ) it’s not worth considering those part of the canon.
Maybe you should try posting more.

Well so is Cold Spring Harbor, but that can’t go on the list because it is credited to Billy Joel, and not The Beatles.

Can you use a Forumpuddlian’s prior ranking if it hasn’t changed?

Cold Spring Harbor isn’t the Billy Joel album you should use for that comparison. Poor production value caused great songs to fail.

Well it’s underrated, just like the YS B-side.

This may not be the right place to post this, and it may have been posted somewhere else, but…what the hell. I was wasting time shuffling through msn.com news items and saw this article by Bill Wyman (!), purporting to rank “all 213 Beatles songs, from worst to best.” I’m pretty sure that we Forumpudlians fall into two basic cadres: those who are sick to death of Beatles’ song ranking opinions, and those that are still fascinated by them. I’m still in the second group, and I went through the entire list. Bill is pretty tough on the songs at the bottom of the list, but I find that I agreed with almost all of his opinions, and at least he explains his rationales. He sprinkles his opinions with a lot of ephemera about the Lads, none of which would be revelatory to any of us, but it’s still a good read.

I have to say I didn’t think much of his list. (Spoilers)
Good Day Sunshine in last? and in my life nowhere near the top? Wasn’t very good IMO.
I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

I didn’t agree with it either but if I made a list many heads would explode when some very popular songs appeared very low on the list. It’s subjective based on the author’s opinion.
