In the article he is saying he is a truth finder. So I guess he was just looking for the “true” way the lyric goes.
Eh? Are we back to that website where they try and put the Beatles into religion?

No, not that. Thankfully. He’s more of a myth buster kind of person…so he says.

I just sent him an email about getting the name wrong. I like to correct mistakes. Looking forward to his reply, if he makes one.

Whats the myth here? That some folk aren’t sure of the right lyrics?
And why are four people credited as writing the track? I presume the last two are pseudonyms for John and Paul but why add them twice (and i’m sure Paul had little to do with writing it).
Whatever he’s going on about he lost me – not that i can work myself up to the point of actually caring.

And while we’re here, I heard the famous ‘I buried Paul/cranberry sauce’ bit for the first time the other day. If I didn’t know better, I would be prepared to swear he said ‘I buried Paul’.

I have often noted what a violent shade of chestnut John’s hair was naturally; his mum’s red coming out, I suppose.

There is an expression “You’re outta your tree” which means you’re crazy. What does it mean if someone else is in your tree then cause the narrator isn’t sure if people are in their tree or not “no one I think is in my tree”.

I’ve always read that as John saying he’s unsure if anybody else sees the world as he does.

Most of the videos shared in this thread have been taken down by youtube. I’d particularly like to know what the original video posted was about, because it’s an interesting thread.
It was part of the original promo clip. Joe posted it in post 105 just above. It’s the same as the very first video in the thread I think. The one below that in post 106 by MMM is alternate footage, but the audio has been muted. Someone posted a couple videos on page 2 that don’t even show up for me, so I don’t know what those even were. The “Evolution Of” looks interesting, but alas has been removed from YouTube.

I agree, his hair could look really red sometimes.

As a self-renowned expert on the subject (my username location has always been “In my tree”), I agree with RN’s assessment.
I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

If John is all alone in his tree, then at least he’s in his tree, so he’s not mad… but everyone else is in not his tree (though they might be in their own trees) so from his perspective, from in his tree, it appears that they don’t think like he does– i.e. they appear to be mad.
PWT and too much Pink Floyd.

The next line, “I mean I must be high or low,” is his expression that he doesn’t know if how he views the world means he’s crazy or a genius.
