Thanks to @Ahhh Girl’s brilliant suggestion, a thread for this is now needed.
It will serve as a thread with a google sheet so we can have a record of what instrument/s play the first note in all songs in their main catalogue.
Shoot me PM if you want to help, and I’ll gladly give you the link to it. Once we’re done, I’ll lock the sheet and then put it up here for everyone.
I welcome as many people as possible to help – many hands make quick work!

I’d say base it on the exact way the Beatles put it out the very first time. We can then do a supplemental chart for the ones that have a different intro on another version.
Thoughts?

The problem with that is that The Beatles released all of their albums from With The Beatles to The White Album in mono and stereo simultaneously. However, we definitely can use mono as the base for the singles since they were originally released in mono only and some of them didn’t even get stereo mixes until much later.

I say, if we’re making a list, just mention both in the format of Instrument (Mono/Stereo).
For example (This is just made up, but) :
Wild Honey Pie – Uillean Pipes (Mono), Tenor Saxophone (Stereo)
Also, I’d be happy to help work this out. Should we maybe allocate an album to each person to save time, then someone can copy/paste them into a full document?
I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

I’m glad you want to help @QuarryMan but i finished the project this morning, i’m just waiting for either THGF to upload the sheet or for him to give me permission to upload it. But i did decide to write mono only for Yellow Submarine in the acoustic guitar spot.

Ok, well done DO – I guess you must have been really bored!
https://docs.google.com/spread…..sp=sharing is the link. I’ve turned it onto view only because this is now on the whole web, so random people will be able to access it.

Here’s the US version. I used Canada’s Twist And Shout instead of The Early Beatles or Introducing The Beatles since i think it fits nicer than those 2.

Excellent work! I can’t wait to make playlists based on the results.
