Or even a part of the song.
I’m listening to Abbey Road right now and ‘You Never Give Me Your Money ‘ is on and I always thought it was Ringo singing the….
“Out of college money spent….” portion of the song. I kind of wish he would’ve sung that part actually and that’s where this idea of a thread came from. That part just seems so very…Ringo…and it would’ve given him another lead vocal on the album!
I hope this isn’t a silly topic! Let me know what you think!
Try to realize it's all within yourself, no one else can make you change....
I wish John had sung Good Night . Ringo’s “sad clown” voice often adds a great effect to a lot of songs, but it just serves to make Good Night dreary and boring.

I like Ringo on Good Night , actually. It isn’t (or as I know the story to be) a serious song, with the cheesy over the top (intentionally over the top) strings making it seem perfect for Ringo. But I can see it being dreary and boring.
And, just for the entertainment value, I wish there was some outtake of John singing Helter Skelter , like the clip of him on Anthology 3 goofing to Oh! Darling . (None of which to say Paul didn’t do Helter Skelter well – he did it fantastic, but just to see if he could.)

Paul should have sung Eight Days A Week alone, it suits better with his voice

John should’ve sang “Roll Over Beethoven ” – George never had a great shouty rock n’ roll voice, and his performance is a weak one. And George already had a coupla other vocal spotlights on With The Beatles , anyways.
Also, I wish that John had given “I’ll Cry Instead ” over to Ringo, just so he could’ve had his vocal spotlight on AHDN . The song strikes me as a natural fit, being the sort of country-rockabillyish thing that Ringo did so often.
GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

The Incedibly True Story THat Never Ends. By Sam.

I love Paul’s singing in Helter Skelter , but I try to imagine Ringo or George trying to sing it. With George, it would be hilarious. With Ringo, it would look kind of sad and painful. Just think about it for a minute. Don’t think about it too hard, though, else you’ll never listen to it the same way again.
"I'd tell her I love her, but she'd only reject me in the end and I'd be frustrated. That's why I play guitar; it's my active compensatory factor" -Ringo said something like this once, I changed it up a bit.

Lol I was trying to imagine both. Would be hilarious though.
Hmm I’m very bad at these things. I’d love to hear John sing Good Night but I don’t think his voice would suit the song.
It’d be awesome if there were 4 versions of some of the songs, to see who sings it better.

Is there not at least one song, i think it was a cover, that all 4 beatles have sung lead on, extending into the solo years? Am sure there is, just cant think of it.
We have George doing Get Back from 1970, John did Honey Dont pre 64 and I Saw Her Standing There in ’74 (tho he did some of the vocals with the Beatles joining in with Paul), Ringo did Love Me Do a few years back and a very good version of I Call Your Name in 1990, Paul has sung Something , A Day In The Life , Help !, Strawberry Fields and a handful of others. Anyone know of any other obscure Beatles doing other Beatles songs?
There was a bootleg from the nineties that was Beatles covering the Beatles, many of them were from the Get Back sessions but there was John doing a drunken rendition of the “hands across the water” section of Uncle Albert /Admiral Halsey from a drunker party in a hotel (i also have a memory of The Inner Light turning up there too but that appears to be incorrect).
Anyway a quick google search brings up the Uncle Albert recording along with Happy Birthday and My Sweet Lord , it was recorded on his 31st birthday.
I think i deviated the thread.

They’ve all sung on Shout, or wasn’t that what you meant?
Anyway, those are cool. I’ve heard a few by Paul but not the others, awesome!
In the related videos bit of the video you posted there’s a link to John singing Yesterday (very drunk)

No, im sure there is one song that all 4 recorded independent of each other but considering i cannot think for the life of me what it is i am more than likely wrong.

It’s fun to imagine if Ringo sang Norwegian Wood .

I could hear that as a possibility. The original has a little trippy, flowy slightly psychedelic sound. With Ringo singing it over a different type of arrangement, I get the feeling it would have a bit more of a Country sound and could easily have fit in on Beaucoups Of Blues.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

… Um…
Oh dear, poor Georgie! And Ringo, oh…
I think I thought about it too much.

John should have sang Good Night , and Ringo should have sang Little Child .
