Ya, my wife would probably object to Penny Lane or Strawberry Fields too!

@Bongo. Have a little sailboat called Yellow … (not a great name for a water craft designed to be above the water, but, what the heck. the name is written in the “Yellow Submarine ” font. That really is the name of the font – a little known Beatle contribution to the world of print)
Only recently discovered Lennon’s “Steel And Glass “ off Walls And Bridges (a Zig favorite). That song should have had more notoriety (as with a number of other post-Beatle Lennon and McCartney songs)

Sad thing about breaking up albums, especially those MADE to be cohesive works….since the easy freely trading songs started with god knows how many apps and such, great songs, which seem to flow naturally from one into another, are lost along the way. When they closed the two major music stores in SF, I was heartbroken.
No more browsing for hours, finding gems you never knew existed…Now, songs are drifting out there on their own, without their album-mates. I can’t imagine what it’s like to know and love, say, Good Day Sunshine , without ever having heard Love You To , or She Said She Said . There was nothing compared to getting a new Beatles album (not CD or download), and sitting in your room, memorizing every square inch of the album covers, every lyric, and the latest pictures of the Lads. No internet, no MTV, no iPhone apps, just a new album to soak your brain.
Yes, this IS on subject. I’m glad our Apple Scruffs are finding spectacular new songs by the guys we love! It just seems so weird to me not to see these songs sitting with their album mates, ready to follow after that 5 second delay…”To lead a better life, I need my songs to be near!”
Gah blesh yas and goo-night!

That’s a great song, one of the few Wings’ track I knew before I became a big fan. I love that opening-piano- it’s one of about 20 songs that I know how to play on the piano.

Only two-finger piano as he jokingly said. Actually now that I think about it I can play a bit of the WMGGW piano riff, so although Paul was playing it, it is still on a George song so meh!

I became a huge fan when I was a child, in the 60s, right between the release of Sgt Pepper and Mystery Tour. From then on, I looked forward each Christmas to getting the latest album and spending Christmas afternoon in my room listening to the stereo.
I didn’t have the money to completely explore the earlier albums at the time, but I tried. But I just never got around to thoroughly explore their early music until tihis last summer, like 50 years later.
But it’s been worth it. The songs listed here are like brand new top 40 hits to my ears, not having been very familiar with them earlier. They run through my head often. Especially the opening line of Hold Me Tight .
It just feels so right, yeah!

@natureaker“Michelle ” is a great song. If you look at the canon thread and the song’s ranking and comments, you’ll find that there isn’t much love for that song on this forum. Can’t quite figure it out except for the fact that it’s got the feel of an old-fashioned song. But I love the guitar progressions.
One of my earliest memories was when my parents were buying a new Pontiac LeMans and my brothers and me were relegated to sit in the waiting room at the dealership during the process.
I had just gotten a transistor radio as a gift for Christmas, so this must have been December 1965 or shortly thereafter. It had a real leather cover. It had one of those bone colored earplugs.
I think this might have been the first time I tried to work my radio. I turned it on and heard a really cool song. It was a big hit at the time, called Michelle .
I think it was my first taste of my favorite music group. Always loved that song. I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t.
I remember taking in the smell of new leather. It was so good.
