I realized a while back that it seems like Paul sings a handful of songs that don’t actually have words in the choruses. Instead, he just vocalizes and makes some “ooh” or “doo” sounds. The only examples that come to mind are “Mother Nature’s Son” and “Rocky Raccoon .” Any others that you guys can think of?
By the way, I’m not knocking his songwriting ability in any way. I LOVE Paul. It was just something that occurred to me.

Penny Lane , Hey Jude , what seems like a large majority of George's songs (or am I crazy?), In My Life
probably more. Correct me if I'm wrong

He does do that “ooh” or “doo” thing a lot, doesn't he? He also whistles a lot! I never really noticed that before, either. (I do love whistling parts in songs because I can't do it. He does it in some solo songs, and John does it in Jealous Guy …it's beautiful, and it always amazes me the way they can both carry a tune while whistling!)

I think Penny Lane has a chorus…”Penny Lane is in my ears, and in my eyes, there beneath the blue suburban skies…”
But I don't think Tomorrow Never Knows has a chorus.
You've got power, you got to use it for the good!

We Can Work It Out , that part of the song changes. Paul says the second time “Penny Lane is in my ears… fish and finger pie” or however the phrase is. So I don't think it really is the chorus but more of a bridge or refrain.

Things We Said Today doesn’t really have a chorus, but the link or whatever you want to call it has a pretty clever key change.

“Though I know I'll never lose affection…I love you more”?
Neither of the “Sgt. Pepper etc.” songs have a chorus, She's Leaving Home doesn't really, and the Abbey Road Medley doesn't except for She Came In Through The Bathroom Window .
I told her I didn’t

I think 'If I Needed Someone ' might fall into the catagory.

I never counted it as a chorus. Hmmm… The Beatles use chorus (or lack of) is quite interesting.

You guys are on a roll! What I actually meant by the topic was songs without *lyrics* in the chorus, in which case I think only the two I mentioned qualify. (Not gonna lie, I listened to the whole catalogue today to see if there were more … ) Well, actually, I think Hey Jude also qualifies. But I didn’t even realize that they actually had so many songs without true choruses. Those Beatles, slipping a fast one by us after so many listens!
I’m going to do some more thorough listening tomorrow/this weekend and see if I can come up with any others.

Thanks for throwing yourself on that grenade for us. It must have been tough.
No matter what your original intention for the thread was, it's still a fun one! Thanks for starting it.

I'm not sure but Twist And Shout doesn't have a chorus, the chorus would be the screams right?
Man I have no idea what a chorus or a bridge is.

For me is, I don't know what a chorus is in Beatles' standards. Some are more obvious ( A Hard Days' Night, She Loves You ), but then there are no obvious ones ( Revolution , do the “all rights” count as a chorus?).
Good job Paulsbass for going through the albums.
