Hey guys, first post here. About a year and a half ago, I was bored and decided to read the Wikipedia intro on the Beatles. Of course I had heard of them and known a lot of their bigger songs, but I was never really into them. Well that Wikipedia reading grew into a full on obsession and now I would say I know as much about the Beatles as most people who have been following them for 20 years!
Anyways, I was interested in discussing Beatles songs where there is an alternate version of the song sung by another Beatle. Here are a couple examples:
John singing “I Saw Her Standing There ” with Elton John in the 70's
Paul almost jokingly signing “I'm So Tired” during another Beatles session.
Paul singing “Something “, “Give Peace a Change”, “A Day In The Life (John's verses)”, during his tours.
I know I am missing quite a few but I'm drawing a blank (it's early in the day!). I would love to hear more examples from you guys, as these versions greatly interest me.
Thanks for having such a great forum to discuss the Beatles!

Paul has done All Things Must Pass, For You Blue and Yellow Submarine before. I could swear there was a thread for this. I'll see about pulling up some videos.
Edit: How about Help/Strawberry Fields/Give Peace A Chance. Hope you enjoy these.

Great stuff. I had seen him doing Strawberry Fields before and of course Give Peace A Chance he does at every show, but never heard him do Help !. Interesting version with the 80's style synth beats.
I found a couple more.
Here is a poor quality of John and friends singing and humming “Yesterday ” back in the 70's. Pretty sure its being done in mocking, which wouldnt surprise me considering the time period:
Every member of the Beatles has done “Get Back “. I'll skip Paul's because we all know it.

I liked Paul’s introduction to “Something ” with ukulele during his tour. Of course he brings it home with full orchestration!

Then there's John's send up of “Yesterday “: “I'm not half the man I used to be – cause now I'm just an amputee” (from the Lennon box set anthology).

Ringo's version of Love Me Do is A.W.E.S.O.M.E.
I think I like it better than the original.

Ringo sang I Call Your Name back in 1990 for the John Lennon tribute concert in liverpool backed by Jeff Lyne, Tom Petty and a few others. He actually did it very well.
There are outtakes of a drunken and probably stoned John singing the hands across the water section of Uncle Albert /Admiral Halsey in a hotel. He did a few others but i forget which. He also did She's A Women during the Double Fantasy sessions but not very seriously. Then there are the numerous half-baked snippets by bored, fed up beatles during the Get Back sessions.
And not forgetting the I Want You (She's So Heavy) outtake which is believed, by some, to be Paul singing lead. Que the debates for and against this theory.
The clips dont seem to be showing. Hmm

I've just realised that nobody's mentioned the Concert For George yet.
Of course crammed with George covers; as far as alternate Beatle covers go, Paul sings All Things Must Pass, Something, and sings backing vocals with Eric Clapton on While My Guitar Gently Weeps.
I think it's great you're going through a phase,
and I'm awfully glad it'll all be over in a couple
of days

I already mentioned these in post #3. Well, the first two.Not really on topic but I remember reading somewhere that Elvis Costello performed with Paul at some concert after Linda died. I think they did All My Loving . Am I insane?

A search on youtube found me this. It seems to be some sort of tribute concert, there are a lot of people on the stage by the end. Hope it helps.

Yip. The clip that kelicopter posted is from the linda tribute concert on 10th April 1999. A search on google brought up a longer performance on youtube which has pauls speech and a performance of lonesome town. Its below if anyone wants to see the whole thing without searching for it. Paul also had backing from The Pretenders.
Ringos cover of I Call Your Name for the Lennon tribute concert from 1990. It was prerecorded with Tom Petty and Jeff Lyne from the wilbury's. Its actually a really good cover, Ringo sounds good singing it.
And a clip of John doing She's A Woman . For this one think of the Get Back material. Despite the Rock 'n' Roll picture its from the Double Fantasy sessions. There are a couple more of this but it would be an exageration to to call them performances.
I mentioned the last 2 previously but i messed up when posting the videos.
And finally George doing In My Life live back in 1974.
