Well the song that makes me cry isnt a beatles song but it is John Lennon and it is Beautiful Boy.
I dont know what it is about this song it just makes me cry.
I think the line “Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans” is a real pull on the heart. Too poignant wasn't it?
The line that got me was “Before you cross the street, Take my hand” Which is in the same verse. Powerful Verse or what! It makes me shudder and then bawl because, you know, Take my hand. Its the thought of it. We all know John Lennon isn't with us anymore. And it just gets me. “Take my hand”. I never really like talking about John not being with us anymore because, As sad as it may seem, John Lennon really did change my life. It sounds daft I know, But I really think he did! And i think thats what gets me about this song.

And there I was, feeling the pain of the three, the only thought that came to my mind was 'How could someone do that to John?'
At the beginning of last year when I first started to really like the Beatles, especially John, I found out he was dead. When I read the words on the computer screen, “John Lennon died December 8th 1980,”I started bawling my eyes out, NO LIE. Yes, it is a bit late for me to start crying, but I didn't know. Chapman became my worst enemy, and still is. I have an UBER-CRUSH on John, so my eyes start to water when I listen to Let It Be and think of his death.
I did that very same thing. Apart from the Uber-Crush part all of that sums it up perfectly. I just saw died. And that was it.for the rest of the week i went into a sort of depression. I was so upset about the fact he was dead. When I got over it I looked up how he died. After I looked up how he died I printed of 2 pictures of Chapman. One was on a dartboard. The other is now ash as I through it in the fire. Strong and slightly obsessive, scary, weird. But thats how I reacted. My Idol was dead. And there is nothing I can do…

Oh my. I just looked up Here Today – he really was having trouble. Very moving.
I welled up when he sang “I love you”. I probably would have gone for it completely if I wasn't sitting here in the office with people all around me.
I couldn't find a copy of the DVD version of Something – the only ones on YouTube are crowd shots.
Too much. Too, too much.
When they both came on screen I had to look away… ugh. That hit me right in the heart.
Tongue, lose thy light. Moon, take thy flight… see ya, George!

Note by Ahhh Girl 19 Octobe 2014: originally, this post was post #1 of this thread.
I had a really bad dream the day I bought tickets to a Paul concert, which induced a fear of sleeping, it was THAT scary. I dreamed that Paulie died before coming to Utah in July and I woke up at about 3:00 AM and paced in my room trying to calm myself down when Mother Nature’s Son came on my iPod… I started bawling like crazy.
I also cry when I listen to the Tony Sheridan/Beatles’ version of “Nobody’s Child” ’cause the lyrics are just so sad!
Also Here Today and Friends to Go because I’m a softie for the Beatles’ brotherly love for eachother Plus God , Imagine , All Things Must Pass , etc. because I miss those two dearly
So tell us, which Beatles and/or Beatle’s solo song(s) makes you cry?
I'm in love, but I'm lazy.
I cried my eyes out when I first listened to God and Real Love .
And I shedded a tear or two when I listened to In My Life for the first time.
Thursday night your stockings needed mending.

I’ve heard acoustic versions of Mother by John that have made me pretty sad, but I’ve never cried.

Late last Saturday night, my wife and I watched Imagine : John Lennon .
When the clip of him singing Mother in concert came on, we both cried like babies in each others arms.
It's not the first time we saw the movie or the clip. That never happened before but this time it just seemed to hit us like a ton of bricks.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

On Paul's birthday I watched Good Evening New York City and I cried with Something and Here Today . And at the end of The U.S. vs John Lennon Mother started.. and I just turned it off.
I don't know why but to be honest, I don't like to cry when I hear a Beatles song.
Here comes the sun….. Scoobie-doobie……

The only time I recall crying to a Beatles song is hearing The Long And Winding Road right after I heard the Beatles had broken up. I was 6 years old and at my friends house whose parents really instilled Beatlemania in me.

Well, most songs that make me cry make me go :') , not :'( . My brother JoJo (not his real name) cries whenever he hears “Jealous Guy .” I cry when I hear “Beautiful Boy.” I also cry at “Nowhere Man .” I don't know why, but I think it has something to do with the way John wrote it about himself. On the last day EVER at my school, I thought of “In My Life ” (I had written a quote from it in my best friend's yearbook) and very nearly cried. John does seem to have a knack for making me cry, doesn't he?
On a lighter note, A Fiendish Thingy, are you coming to the July 13 Paul concert?

Yesss!!! We should find eachother and take a picture together!! I'm trying to get as many pictures with as many people as I can before the show starts… just look for the teen with 60s hair, glasses, and chunky binoculars. Do you have good seats?
I'm in love, but I'm lazy.

Just wondering, but what is it about God that makes you cry? Is it the 'i don't believe in Beatles' part?

I don't know, really. Maybe that part does contribute to it a lot, but I think it's mostly because the song shows how amazing a person he was, you know? I love the line “God is a concept by which we measure our pain,” he's effin' philosophical, man!
But yeah, all the “I don't believe in Kennedy, Zimmerman, Beatles”, etc. and the “I just believe in me. Yoko and me.” and the way he just says “and that's reality.” makes me crack up a little. It's mournful and sensitive, yet frank and straight-forward. “The dream is over.” 🙁
“I was the dreamweaver, but now I'm reborn… I was the walrus, but now I'm John.” It's an incredible song.
I'm in love, but I'm lazy.

I don't cry. I get my lacrymal glands surgically removed. In addition, I'm a very tough guy.
Leaving jokes apart, music and crying aren't in the same circuit in my brain, so, I don't cry with music, but some songs makes me shivers, like “Hey Jude “, “Here Comes The Sun ” or “Let it be”, and John's most confessional songs, from “in my life” up to “beautiful buoy”.
I'd like to say "thank you" on behalf of the group and ourselves and I hope we passed the audition.

I've never cried at a Beatles (or Beatles-related) song. But the song that makes me saddest is Lennon's “Woman “, just 'cause it's the song I associate most with his death and all that came after.
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

Well, a lot of Lennon songs I listen to really give me a feeling that he was fractured inside, like “Jealous Guy ” and “Mother .” Not insane, just unhappy and insecure. Does that make sense?
