NOTE 11 April 2014: Ahhh Girl merged three threads that covered the same ground. The way they developed they ended up paralleling one another. I did get input from one forumpudlian on the feasibility of merging these threads. So, I think the merge is o.k. For those who would like to know the original structure of the three threads, I will document it here.
[Note #2: meanmistermustard added a further thread (#1 as documented below) to here on the 27th November 2014 as well as updating the below notes.]
Thread 1 consisted of posts 1 -> 29 and was originally titled ‘Help me to find bands like the Beatles’. It was originally in the ‘All Together Now ‘ section of the forum
Thread 2 consisted of posts 30 -> 56 and was originally titled “Any songs or artist today that have a Beatle sound”. It was originally in the songs section of the forum.
Thread 3 consisted of posts 57 -> 80 and was originally titled with the current title of this thread “Songs by other bands that sound “Beatles-ish”
Thread 4 consisted of posts 81 – >105 and was originally titled “Obscure or lesser known bands that sound like the Beatles…”
I hope bringing all these conversations together will help those who are interested in this topic get the most input in the easiest manner.
Hi
Can you introduce me other groups like the Beatles?
I mean bands that are in the genre of rock and oldies and sounded more like The Beatles .
I also enjoy listening The Monkees music.

I just heard some songs from the radio from “The Renegades” and I seriously thought for a moment I was listening to the Beatles, when I realized the Beatles catalog don’t have such songs . Their singer sounds pretty similar to Lennon and their music is like early Beatles
I’m sure you know the Beach Boys ; personally I don’t really like their music but they are very sixties-esque

The Beach Boys – obviously a great influence on Paul, wonderful melodies and vocal harmonies.
The Kinks- similar British wit, catchy songs with great Beatlesque hooks
Emitt Rhodes- people call him the “one-man-Beatles”, has a very McCartney-like voice and is a master songwriter. His music is quite difficult to obtain nowadays but if you can get a chance to listen to his self-titled debut I would 🙂
Animal Collective- more modern and up to date, an electronic band with very psychedelic overtones, who often seem to channel the Beatles in their vocal harmonies and lush, poppy sound
In honesty, though, I feel there’s no band who sounds quite like the Beatles- it’s as if they invented their own sound and genre which has never really been sonically equaled.

Squeeze from the 1980s.
Two singers, great harmonies, clever lyrics.
They were one of the many acts labelled as “the next Lennon-McCartney”

(Harry) Nilsson
Yes! Nilsson is another I forgot to mention, beautiful singer and pretty skilled pop songwriter who was named as one of John and Paul’s favourites, so he must be alright. Also was very close friends with John in the ’70s. His version of “Without You” is far and away the best.

Badfinger only half counts:
Their hit “Come And Get It ” was written by McCartney
and they recorded on the Apple label.
"Into the Sky with Diamonds" (the Beatles and the Race to the Moon – a history)
Maybe I’m biased but I infinitely prefer Paul’s demo of “Come And Get It ” to the Badfinger version. He should have kept such a great song for his first solo single, or alternatively it would have been a snug fit on Abbey Road in place of “Maxwell” and with the Beatles playing it could have been one of the best songs on the album IMO.

Jellyfish. Get hold of a copy of Bellybutton – it’s great. They used to do covers of Jet and Let ‘Em In when they played live too. One of the band members, Jason Falkner, did a couple of albums of Beatles covers called Bedtime With The Beatles , which are very useful for indoctrinating young children.

I don’t like the early beatles, another one so i don’t care about people who sound similar to their early songs. For me there are very few bands as good as the beatles, although there are some: definitely the wings and maybe the stones

I sound like The Beatles. Look for me in a few years. x)
I looked up bands that either influenced The Beatles or were influenced by The Beatles. Try Billy Joel, Moody Blues, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Fats Domino.
Or wait a few years for my song on the radio. xD

I heard a song today by Beady Eye (made up of former members of Oasis) and the lead singer had a voice with a resemblance to John (with a tinge 90’s British Indie music, of course)… It reminds of John’s Instant Karma

YES, great album! Hate to say it here but he really outdid Paul himself as far as 1970 entirely-solo debuts go.
GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

Agreed entirely. I love Paul’s solo debut but it unquestionably has some weak spots, whereas Emitt’s album is tip top all the way through. Shame it’s not more widely known.
