– The way Paul sings: ‘You know I want you to remember’ in PS I Love You
– The backing vocals in Baby It’s You (both ‘shalalala’ and ‘cheat’ but also the ‘ooh’) , the break before ‘ ‘caus Baby It’s You ‘, and the celesta part.
– The Spanish sounding intro to Do You Want To Know A Secret and the descending off-beat guitar chords in the verses.
– The bridge in There’s A Place

There’s been plenty of praise for McCartney’s “Taxman ” solo, but the one particular moment I need to rave about here is at about 1:21. The guitar and tambourine parts lock in so ridiculously tight that that triplet on tambourine is really part of the guitar melody.

The music from 1:27-1:45 (especially beginning at 1:36) in Any Time At All gets every one of my sense tingling. It grabs hold and won’t let go.

I bet that sounded amazing. They’re really cool chords.
My kidsister and I used to sing No Reply with the harmonies, the middle eight was fantastic.

Almost every Beatle song grabs a true Beatles fan, lol, but there are a few that can make a listening experience quite emotional for me. In My Life always gives me goosebumps (especially the intro and during the ending when Lennon goes from falsetto to a lower range). Ask Me Why , All I’ve Got To Do , I’ll Follow The Sun , Michelle , I Want To Tell You and Here There And Everywhere are amazing as well. Another one that I initially wouldn’t really think could affect me like that is Getting Better , but really when you consider the subject matter of the song (how school can oppress young children and squash their dreams and Lennon being sorry for hitting women/his wife) mixed in with some typical Beatly humour, I can’t help but thinking about what a genious song it is.

I always love the bit in It’s Only Love where John flubs a lyric, George starts laughing (presumably) and misses his guitar part because of it, which causes John to start laughing on the line ‘very bright’. Wouldn’t get that these days.

The violin-string-plucks in the ‘I don’t know’ section of Something always grab my attention.
Ringo’s drumming in that section is so damn simple but incredibly effective. One of those many examples where most other drummers would have played something else which would have been detrimental to the song.
Really, the whole damn song when broken down is exceptional. Not one moment is meh or just good.

Listen to the isolated drums and Ringo is friggin’ mindblowing in what he’s doing, even in the solo. He goes from restrained to utterly f*****g mad and continues into the solo – yet all that he does in no way impedes the song. I don’t know how he did such things, and some/a lot will be down to production but man, he could do incredible things whilst making you feel you were hearing something so simple. And some folk still think he wasn’t that good.
When you break down what’s actually happening in the songs on ‘Abbey Road ‘, the structures, instrumentations, what’s actually going behind each song, it begins to hit just how exceptional an album it is. ‘Octopus’s Garden ‘ gets a lot of ill-will but even there so much is going on.

Ringo’s fills through the entirety of Abbey Road are masterful. I’m always blown away about how the drums flutter in Something . The way he changes rhythm and drives the Medley forward is also amazing.
