When George sings several notes on one syllable in AppleScruffs, like AppleScru-u-u-u-ufs at 0:55. Especially in combination with the harmony vocals the intervals are very interesting and it adds a fascinating exotic feeling to the song.

There’s many song fragments that grab me but a notable one to be would be John’s Epiphone solo on Honey Pie , it’s one of those rare occasions where i think John’s lack of skill actually helps the guitar solo sound better.

One that occurred to me when listening to All You Need Is Love single yesterday is how John sings the whole song. The way he sings the verses flowingly sounds like he couldn’t be more nicer or kind to the listener.

That’s so,so true! I have to shamefully admit that I don’t like this song too much but I’ve always loved the caring sound in John’s voice. He sounds so honest in his message!
Another fragment that really grabs me and is also related to John’s singing: His deep backing vocals in the slow intro to My Bonnie , especially the ‘duh-duh’duh’ at about 0:25. I generally love it when John sings in such a low register. I’m Down is another great example with his ‘Down’ backings.

I also like the energy in John’s voice in Mr Moonlight . Not only the intro, but how he sings the line “And the nights you don’t come my way” always gets me!

– Paul’s crazy bassline in Taxman while they sing ‘If you drive a car, I’ll tax the street; If you try to sit, …’ and also the extra-long ‘th’ in Heath later on in the song.
– The bass sound in I’m Only Sleeping : it sounds so full, warm, and bouncy that it strikes a good balance between the crunchy, rather hard sounding guitar on the one hand and the sleepy, dreamy vocals on the other hand and it gives the song depths depth.
-The way guitars and bass interact with one another in And Your Bird Can Sing . It’s almost like a call and response in parts, when the guitars play a run of fast notes and the bass responds with a similar run
-The final chord in For No One

I also love the word play between ‘smile away’ and ‘smell your feet a mile away‘.

The out-of-nowhere crazy high falsetto “Is there anything I can do” about 3/4 of the way through Tell Me Why . I was not expecting them to go quite that high and I don’t think it ever happened again until Revolution – “you know it’s gonna BE~”

If we’re talking grab you as in grab your attention, the solo in Hey Bulldog would definitely be a great example. It’s a great solo but people regularly debate whether it’s George, John, or even Paul due to how it combines all 3 of their styles, similar to the ahhhs in A Day In The Life but with guitars rather than vocals.
