1.The bass line in “Hey Bulldog ”
2. The harmonies in “Taxman “
3. The strings in “Eleanor Rigby “
4. John’s “aah” in “Lovely Rita “
All these( and some more ) give me life
P.S. It’s not a song fragment, but Ringo’s laugh in “A Hard Day’s Night ” movie ( you know which one 😉 moves my soul as well 😀

Long list incoming, and I still didn’t catch them all. There are so many great moments.
Bad Boy :
-Now Junior, BEHAVE yourself!
-spinning in a hooooooola hoop…
If I Fell :
Oh please, don’t run and hide…
You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away :
–Everywhere people stare…
–HEY!
-How could she say to me…
-Gather round all you clowns…
Something :
–You’re asking me will my love grow
–I don’t know, I don’t know… (and then the entire guitar solo afterwards)
Act Naturally :
-They’re gonna make a big star out of me…(love his “drawl”, if that’s what you call it lol)
Rock And Roll Music : (in its entirety, John absolutely kills it throughout and is obviously having a blast)
Helter Skelter :
-Tell me, tell me, tell me, come on, tell me the answer…
-I’m coming down fast but don’t let me break you…
-The descending bass and guitar riffs after every time the words ‘Helter Skelter ‘ are sung, so appropriate.
If I Fell :
-Cause I found that love was more than just holding hands… (a follow-up to “I Want To Hold Your Hand “, perhaps? Random thought.)
Old Brown Shoe : (in it’s entirety, there is so much boing-boing-bounciness to the bass and drums it’s crazy and I love it)
Being For the Benefit of Mr. Kite!:
-In this way Mr. K will challenge the wooorrlllddDD…
Magical Mystery Tour :
–Rrrrroll uuuup...rrrrroll up for the mystery Tour…
-Roll up (we’ve got everything you need) {where the drums and bass are kicking in a bit harder}
While My Guitar Gently Weeps :
-I don’t know whhyyyyyy…
–I look at the world and I notice it’s turning…
All Together Now :
-Sail the ship, chop the tree, skip the rope, Look at Meeee!
She’s Leaving Home : (The string bits, of which there are a lot)
Here, There, and Everywhere: (the backup harmonies, all of it is great)
And let’s not forget the one song that sparked this whole re-discovery of the Beatles a couple months ago…
Within You Without You :
-The whole section from 2:00 on, including the awesome instrumentation throughout. And to think it was actually a cover version, without vocals at all, that interested me to begin with. Enter Rock Band, and the rest is history.

Do you mean the amazing “I” melisma that starts around 2:49? Not only is it the highlight of “A Day In The Life “, it has to be in the running for the best thing the Beatles ever did.

Agreed. Despite John having mentioned he didn’t like the sound of his own voice (or something like that) he had quite the set of pipes. Amazing.

I meant when he sings the words “lords” in the “…if he was from the house of lords” bit, and later the same with “…having read the book” and in the “i’d love to turn you on” …same thing later in the song when he sings the word hall from “…Royal Albert hall“…
Also the delay in his voice plays a key role in this song.
The amazing melisma you mentioned has its own thread in this forum X) and, IMO, it’s one of the most controversial debates. It’s mainly based on who sang the “ahs” john, or Paul?… I couldn’t find it but if you are interested you could ask for it here
Enjoy!

That’s my mum’s favourite Beatlesong (of course, it may be *because* she loves Beethoven’s sonata that John borrowed the chords from as well).
Midori78 aptly mentioned among many other things

That’s what I always thought… great list, by the way.

YES!! That’s the part I’d sing my head off to when I was a wee one. You’ll still find me singing along to it with a big old grin on my face.
Bom bom bom bom pa bomp sail the ship! Bom pa bomp chop the tree! Bom pa bomp skip the rope! Bom pa bomp look at meeeeee! And the end: ALL TOGETHAH NOW! all together now ALL TOGETHAH NOW! all together now ALL TOGETHAH NOW! Then it gets faster until: ALL TOGETHAAAAA NOOOOOW! *woo!*

All this music fragment talk (and listening to some of those isolated tracks from the Rock band game) is seriously making me want to go get a guitar and learn some riffs. =D

I don’t know if I have ever seen a thread that so exemplifies and defines the Forumpool’s love for the Beatles. It seems to bring out the in everybody. You can just see in your mind’s eye all the nodding and smiling with each new post. Great stuff, and thanks to @Into the Sky with Diamonds for the original idea, all those years ago.

The Hippie Chick, Ahhh Girl, Into the Sky with Diamonds, Beatlebug, Zig, Eleanor Macca, WeepingAtlasCedarsI say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

I agree so much georgiewood! That’s what makes me happy I found this place. I can indulge in my Beatleing with like minded people who love them just as much as I do. This thread… sharing some little snatch of a song that speaks to you or moves you or makes you giddy when you hear it… I love it.
