In It’s Only Love , I like how John sings “Just the sight of you makes nighttime bright, very bright” and the first time he says “bright” he rolls the r, but the second time he doesn’t.

Did I already mention?
I like Paul’s almost imperious yet amusingly commanding voice in “All You Need Is Love ” toward the end when he stentorially announces “All together now!… Everybody!” — almost like a British version of a carnival barker.

I love on the Anthology version of ‘A Day In The Life ‘ at the end of Pauls bit where he messes up the lyrics and goes “Oh s**t..”
"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been.. I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene.. Banjos! Banjos! All the time, I can't forget that tune.. and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

Also, on Lovely Rita , how Pauls voice gets a little rough and louder when he sings “Meter Maaaaiiid!!” Love that.

I was listening to Rubber Soul earlier, so:
- “Carve your number on my wall and maybe you will get a call from me…” At first I always thought it was strange that the lyric wasn’t just “give me your number” or something, but then I saw that “carve your number on my wall,” is such great imagery
- The very end of Wait – “I’ve, been, a, loooowne,”. I don’t think you often get that cadence in pop music
- The guitar solo of Girl, when one guitar is doing the “tit tit tit” melody and the other is playing a walking crotchet melody
- Right at the end of I’m Looking Through You , when Paul yells, “Oh, you’ve changed, you’ve changed, you’ve changed, you’ve changed…”
"I don't think we were actually swimming, as it were, with shirts on, 'cos we always wear overcoats when we're swimming,"-

“Octopus’s Garden “- George’s lead guitar through the whole song, but especially at the end.
“The End “- Ringo’s drum solo.
“Girl”- The way John breathes in through his teeth after singing girl .
“I Me Mine “- The way Georges voice seems to build-up during the song.

In I’ll Be Back , I love the beautiful harmony when John and Paul sing “You could find better things to do” and all of the other lyrics with that melody. Especially John’s harmony. It’s the low one that nobody really notices since it’s not the melody, so I was surprised at what a beautiful harmony it is, even if it stood alone.

I don’t care if this doesn’t count. I simply have to post it. All of While My Guitar Gently Weeps – Anthology Version. It makes me cry every time I hear it.
Fine, I’ll pick a fragment. In WMGGW Anthology Version, the way he says “alerted” (“no one alerted you”).
Also:
In Don’t Pass Me By : “You were in a car crash and you lost your hair.” The way he says it. It’s like: “You were in a car craSH, and you lost your heh.”
In The Long And Winding Road – Anthology Version: The very end. The little piano part. It’s so pretty.

John building up to and then booming out “Ohhhhh annnnnnd this boyyyyy…” – I relished in belting this out in karaoke hahaha
My Sweet Lord – Harrison
Just at that point where he sing “…I really wanna see you” – I dunno, it stirs something in me.
There is one part where when John sings “You’ve really got a hooold -oooon me” and as he says “on me” his voice cracks delightfully.
Just at this point “…I’m the one who wants you”
I will
“…the things you do – endear you to me” – it all just fits lyrically and musically together like nothing i have ever heard at that point.
Misc
Any commencement of the middle eight…
There a loads but i can’t think right now and don’t have my ipod!

Same song- the lyric is written:
“That boy took my love away,
He’ll regret it someday”
On the second line, John is the only one who adds the word ‘though’.
“That boy took my love away,
(Though) he’ll regret it someday”
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

As I always sing along to this when I hear it, I sometimes sing the ‘though’ and thought it was just me making an error! ha! Will listen out for John as I must have heard him subconciously.

The effect on John’s first “you’re gonna lose that girl” straight after the guitar solo in the song of the same name. No idea why its there as its not done anywhere else. Plus the bridge is fantastic, John’s “Yeah” especially always makes me smile. Such a great song.

What a coinkidink.
I was going to post that I like John’s “yeah” as the melody drops down in “Not A Second Time ” [an underrated song IMO]

Totally agree about Not A Second Time and from the same LP toss in All Ive Got To Do, another superb early Lennon vocal and Ringo’s hi-hat use plus the harmonies on “All I’ve Got To Do + John’s “hmmmmmmmm” fade out.
The hi-hat on Anna along with George’s guitar which sounds so crisp and bright and the second bridge “but let me tell you now”.
The solo on Boys . So much energy in that, much better to listen to in stereo thru youre earphones, the drumming, screaming, and guitar is mental. Plus listen to Pauls bass on that. Such a wonderful riff, very simple but sounds so good to me.
The very clean halts on Ask Me Why . Was never a huge fan of that song but now there are so many things i love about it.
Yeah i was listening to Please Please Me . Actually i got to the end of side 1 and had to stop as at end of journey. Came to the conclusions that side 1 is better than side 2 and that i prefer the stereo mix in earphones, yip the separation mix. The remastering brought some real brightness to the LP.

When I listen to this album in surround sound, it’s as though they are playing the songs right there in the room with me. That first album has such a “live” sound unlike any of the others.
