Sometimes it’s just a little thing in a song that keeps you coming back.
“I Should Have Known Better “: the chord change in “oh” as in “And when I tell you that I love you, oh.….”
(Honorable Mention to “and when I ask you to be mine, a-a- ine” The DJs used to cut out the sound right at that point so you would just hear the crowd singing “a-a-ine”)
“Being for the Benefit of MK”: the 5-10 second little melody on the organ at the very, very end just before the flourish of calliope.
“Wait “: – the harmonium at the end of the verses (“Wait [harmonium] ’til I come back to your side [harmonium]
– Paul’s pronunciation of “trust”
– the ending of the song with the cymbals “oh how I’ve been aloooooone”
Anyone else have songs bits they really like?

In Martha My Dear , when Paul sings “Look what you’ve done”. Love the sound of his voice there.
Here, There, and Everywhere. On the lines, “Each one believing that Love never dies, watching her eyes”…those harmonies? Sends shivers up my spine.
I also love the rawness in John’s voice on the line, “I wonder, should I call you? But I know what you would do” in I’m So Tired .
That’s all I have for you right now. I’ll have more by tomorrow.

Pauls rain-like bass line in I Want You at 4:06.
How Paul sings “if there’s anything i can do” and “like a heart thats oh so true” in From Me To You .

Wow – there are so many grabbers when it comes to Beatles songs. One that I love is actually from George’s “Hear Me Lord ” from ATMP . At about 3:20 into the song there is a melancholy little riff that gets me every time.
People talk a lot about George’s emotions coming through in his voice – his guitar truly weeps in that little riff!

“I Want To Hold Your Hand “, first bridge: “…I can’t hide, I can’t hide, I can’t HIIIIIIIIIDE!!” Hear the wavering reverberations of the two voices singing that last “hiiiide”, microtones apart, practically siren-like, and know that you are listening to the most joyous sound ever recorded!
Also: In “The Word “, that wonderful bubbling little bass guitar fill Paul plays just before the turnaround in the 3rd chorus, at 1:15 if memory serves. Almost like an excited little voice adding a few words of its own!
Also: about 454 others.
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

The afore mentioned bit in ‘ Here, There and Eveywhere’ and also the guitar bit after ”I want her everywhere, and if she’s beside me I know I will never care”.
The harmonies in ‘She’s Leaving Home ‘ are stunning and the bit that I especially like is the ”bye, bye” bit.
When in ‘I’m So Tired ‘ he says ”he was such a stupid git (get?)”. The way he sort of shouts it with an agressive tone, love that.

I love Martha My Dear as a whole but a part of the song which always stuns me is the one where the guitar enters (i don’t know the lyrics but a part of it is “that you and me, where meant to be”)

A very big yes. Sun King has to be the most relaxingly gorgeous song they ever recorded. How each song in the medly flows into each other either so gently you are at total peace and in a state of karmic bliss or rocks your foot off. How amazing are the drum thumps that waken you to meet Mr Mustard or how Polythene Pam soars into the Bathroom Window!! What trully makes a medley work is how each track links to its partners and The Beatles, George Martin and the others involved totally got it down. Even the gap between Bathroom Window and Golden Slums works brilliantly as you can breath before being sucked in again.

The first that comes to mind is, “The End “
1) The groove 0:00:04-0:00:08, repeated at 0:00:15-0:00:19.
2) And the way it goes from a 4/4 rocker to a 3/4 lush closing.

This is what makes “Help !” so good.
- “I need somebody!”
- George’s backing vocals on the title track- “and now I find…”
- “Now today I find, you will change your mind“
- “Last night is the night…”
- “it makes me wanna cry!“
- “Hey! You’ve got to hide your love away!”
- “Please come on back to me“
- “But when you told me, you don’t want my loving any more“
- “Through thick and thin she will always be my friend.”
- “She’s gonna change her mind“
- “She would never be free…”
- “My baby don’t care…”
- Paul’s backing vocals in Act Naturally
- The chorus of It’s Only Love – lyrically clumsy, but the ascending vocal… “It’s So Hard , loving you…”
- “If you leave me, I will follow you and bring you back where you belong…”
- “Tell. Me. What. You. See!”
- “Falling, yes I am falling, and she keeps calling…”
- “I’ve been alone and I have missed“
- “But other girls were never quite like this”
