I was listening to Blind Boy Fuller’s “Homesick and Lonesome Blues” and found his guitar intro strikingly similar to the guitar intro to the fast-paced Revolution . Not sure if that is a common blues guitar trick, or if there was an influence. I thought it was interesting though, give it a listen.

Very good, @beneta. The guitar intros are alike!

Welcome to the Beatles Bible forum. I hope you enjoy spending time with us and sharing Beatles love.

@beneta It’s not an uncommon blues riff, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t an influence, and the similarity can be heard in Revolution 1  and the faster-paced, heavier single version (which I think may be the one you’re referring to).

Actually, that’s probably my bad @Ron Nasty. beneta started a new thread with that post. Did I move it to the wrong place?

@Ahhh Girl Possibly. The fast-paced version is usually the description of the Hey Jude  b-side version – just called Revolution , not the White Album  version which this thread is about. The echo of the riff can be heard in both versions though.

@beneta, if you would like for me to move your post back out into its own thread with your original title (Revolution and Blind Boy Fuller), let me know and I will do so. Or if mmm or RN say to do so, I will go ahead and move it back out and delete all these logistical posts.

EDIT: I emailed Joe to see how he wants me to handle this.

EDIT (2): I moved this back out into its own thread. I emailed Joe again (poor Joe).
