At least no one has done a cover version of it.
In fact, Wikipedia states that there's at least four covers by Phish, Def FX, Little Fyodor and Alarm Will Sound.

And that's FTW!
I'd like to say "thank you" on behalf of the group and ourselves and I hope we passed the audition.

Yeah didn't Phish play the whole White Album at one of their concerts?

They did.
They need to work the first part, they need a lower-pitch, soft voice for “number nine” part too. The last section is fine.

Thank you Marcelo! I'll give you 2 apples to be even
I'm still in awe. How to say it? Man that is music!!!!!! If a trained musician could make an orchestration of that, and sound similar, then it's music.
It's now clear. Revolution 9 is a song and the instrument John used (with George and Yoko) is loops on tape. John Winston Ono Lennon you were truly something out of this Earth.

Now that was cool, thanks for the links guys. Jeez, John Lennon was a cool dude, those tracks like Revolution 9 and Walrus are so great because you can always hear something new and different even after hearing them hundreds of times.
I love John's quote about number 9 too, “I don't know what influence Revolution 9 had on the teenybopper fans, but most of them didn't dig it. So what am I supposed to do?”
So he tried stuff, it's so weird because there is no one nowadays in music that's really like that, but you'd have to figure that's by design. The attitude today must be 'we want musicians to fit into X mold and that's that,' but we just need someone like John to come along and change things because music still could be great, if it was great then it could be great now. You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one…hopefully.

You know, even though I love this thing (I mean, R9), I don't really think this is the most “mold-breaking” Lennon. In my opinion, “Help ” “Strawberry Fields Forever “, “I Want You (She's So Heavy)”, “Happiness Is A Warm Gun “, “A Day In The Life ” or “For the Benefit of Mr. Kite” are those ones that give him his fame, because these songs are breaking through the parameters of pop music from within. They're songs, but they have something (in every case something different) that don't fit exactly in what is expected.
Revolution 9 is an exercise of being genially annoying. And he succeeded.

I disagree about Walrus. The Backing track is nothing special.
You would disagree with yourself, as I do, if you try to play the riff and solo of this song.
