I don’t have the mono of this as yet so it has to be stereo. Having said that I prefer the stereo mixes of most songs after they got over the ‘drums on one side vocals on the other’ mixes.

If I could get my way, I’d get myself mono today. But I can’t, so I’ll Cry Instead.
My collection so far is in stereo, except Please Please Me . About half of it I inherited from my dad, who (I think) prefers stereo. I’m just so happy to have the stuff at all, I’m not too particular about whether it’s mono or stereo, and as my speaker system isn’t terrific anyway, it doesn’t make much of a difference.
But as a rule, I do prefer mono (except for “Helter Skelter “– I can’t imagine life without “AH GAT BLISTAS AUMMA FINGAHS!!!!” ).
Especially on headphones.

^ I agree on the ‘blisters’ comment; even my son – who is only a casual Beatles listener – likes to quote that every time he plays the drums in Rock Band.

I prefer the White Album in mono because it cuts out the blisters comment. I don’t like hearing it, I find it kind of annoying.
…Oh, I see I already said this above.

I prefer the mono mix in most cases but it depends on the actual album. If my memory serves me well: I prefer the stereo mix of A Hard Day’s Night , Beatles For Sale and the White Album , I like both mixes of Sgt Pepper ‘s, I prefer mono on the remaning ones, especially Please Please Me , With The Beatles , Rubber Soul , Revolver .

Put in your vote on the Poll if you haven’t already folks!Apple wants to know if they should re-release the 2012 stereo LPs in Analog!!!!
I have three (!) BC-13 “blue boxes”. They sound great to me (especially the “older” one). I understand the excitement related to a new Beatle release, but I would not buy a remastered stereo box in analogue. Sorry for the OT

I will likely receive some hate for this, but in my opinion all of the stereo mixes up to the White Album are crap compared to the definitive mono mixes. Rubber Soul , Revolver and Sgt. Pepper in particular are decimated in stereo.

Both. I really don’t have a preference. I can hear the difference when the same song in mono, but I can’t say I really prefer one over the other that much. I mean, I kind of like having different instruments coming at me from different angles so stereo would probably have my preference, but then there are the mono-only songs and I love them just as much. As long as it’s the Beatles, it’s all good.
Now, double versus single coil pickups, that would be an interesting, albeit off-topic, debate.

Just found this thread, Stereo all the way for me. I go way back to the Please Please Me time & I love hearing all the old songs in stereo. Headphones on & words in one ear & music in the other, great! Isn’t it good that we can all have different opinions about it. I think a lot depends on the age of the listener.
We had a stereo record player from 1959 but being only a little kid I didn’t know the difference. It wasn’t until many years later that I really got into stereo, with the release of the blue & red albums in 1973 (?). Since then I’ve got all the albums in Mono & Stereo, box sets in CD & vinyl, all great to listen to.
