Come Together , Yesterday , Eleanor Rigby , Let It Be , Hey Jude (wow, I’m giving Paul a hard time here, hahaha), A Day In The Life (a lot of people call this their best song, but it’s not even my favourite on Pepper’s [good as it is])
Under:
I’m Only Sleeping , She Said She Said , I’m So Tired , Oh! Darling , pretty much all the originals on Beatles For Sale , Only A Northern Song , It’s All Too Much , It’s Only Love , You Won’t See Me , Lovely Rita (side note: this has my favourite bassline of Paul’s), Long, Long, Long

There’s White Album songs I’m sure the general public don’t even know about. And extremely underrated.

People comment on how the covers on ‘BFS’ are weak and drag the album down. I get where they are coming from (Kansas City , Mr Moonlight etc) but the one exception for me is ‘Words Of Love ‘. Holly’s original sounds so thin and the vocal almost tossed off without much thought. The Beatles cover fattens it out, adds gorgeous harmonies and George’s guitar thru-out sounds wonderful.

Words Of Love , Everybody’s Trying to Be My Baby, Rock & Roll Music are all great selections, perfectly executed.

I forgot ‘Rock And Roll Music ‘ which sends Chuck Berry’s quivering into the corner looking on in envy. ‘ETTBMY’ is cool but better live (like a lot of the ‘PPM ‘ tracks), ‘HD’ is sung far better by Lennon (who once again turned a song into a thinly veiled threat), ‘MM’ bar the opening seconds is plain meh (I kind of prefer the Star Club version) and ‘KC’ which no matter when performed was a true bore of a track.

Here at my work, we all pitched in and bought a Satellite Radio and the subscription, and they have an exclusive Beatles Channel, which plays both pre- and post- break up music by the Four, and Beatles-written covers by others, and an occasional program with major influences on the group. So, with that as a basis, I can say the most over-played songs are
Hey Jude (a song I really like, because I remember my older sister playing the 45 rpm single over and over again, but this Beatles Channel will play it twice in an 8 hour work shift)
Come Together (not a favorite of mine, in fact sometimes when I put Abbey Road in a CD player, I will skip this song, with lyrics that seem to be randomly strung together)
Overrated: Well, I know George Martin would disagree (God rest his soul), because it was all ground breaking in his opinion (and the opinions of a lot of people), but Tomorrow Never Knows is an acquired taste I have yet to acquire.
Underrated: early George:
If I Needed Someone I will never forget the first time I heard this on buying Rubber Soul , and being blown away by the guitar work and harmonies.
Other underrated:
