I wouldn’t call either of these tracks filler, both of them are important to the album, filler is something like I’m Looking Through You or Mr. Moonlight, something that was made just because they needed to fill up an entire album, some filler tracks can be pretty good though.

Offline @Dark Overlord I’m Looking Through You is NOT filler! It is Paul’s Girl, where his sonwriting started to reaxh new levels of maturity. It is a huge stepping stone in the Beatles’ progression.

Overrated songs:
There’s really only one song in the whole catalogue I don’t quite like which is Obladi Oblada. It’s not even that bad, sometimes even charming, but all in all, I just can’t warm up to this song.
Underrated songs:
I’ll be back (The desire and resignation in the harmonies and John’s vocals which perfectly match the lyrics are so haunting)
I’ve Just Seen A Face (I used to listen to it about twenty times a day, it’s so wonderful)
Love You To , I Want To Tell You (Two amazing songs of George the latter has great dissonances)
Doctor Robert (I never understand why people don’t like it. The changes between the organ part and the driven rock part are really cool and the harmony vocals on ‘Neeeew and better man’ are just awesome)
Being For The Benefit Of Mr Kite (My second favourite Sgt Pepper ‘s track after A Day In The Life -It’s such a surge of impressions)
Lady Madonna (This song is ingenious! It’s uplifting and grooving and has a great sense of humour)
The Inner Light (Another underrated George song and the best of his Indian trilogy in my opinion)
Two Of Us , I Dig A Pony , I Me Mine (ok, pretty much the whole Let It Be is underrated. Whenever I listen to Let it Be it’s like a warm hug – comforting and uplifting at the same time but these three songs are the most underrated on the album)
Hm, I wonder why I have the impression we would’ve listed the whole catalogue if everyone named the underrated tracks in their opinion.

^^So, true! And what’s fantastic is how the bass guitar supports the jingles of the piano by jumping up and down as well, this creates such a tension. What’s also great is the firework Ringo creates after the line ‘It’s not me it’s just my mind that is confusing things’ for instance. Together with George’s vocals with the Indian touch at the very end, it’s a fantastic song on the best album ever produced IMHO.

Paperback Writer (I like it but I don’t think it’s one of their best)
I Feel Fine (like this one too but I think it’s one of their most dated sounding songs, and just not as good as other ones)
Underrated:
Yellow Submarine (it’s well known but a lot of people seem to hate it)

It’s definitely a great song, but I don’t know why you took back what you said originally? Even though it’s great it DOES sound dated. I imagine it even sounded dated in the late 60’s.

Overrated? I only ever see Doctor Robert get crapped on. I was just talking to my dad the other day bout how underrated that song is. The other two also seem underrated to me as they are deeper tracks.
I think those are overrated because my impression is that most people would say they’re middle of the pack Beatles tracks, whereas I’d but them near the bottom. Doctor Robert is probably the only Beatles song I dislike (I’m fine with Wild Honey Pie , Revolution #9, etc that people seem to mostly dislike).

Offline Paul’s harmony vocal adds a lot to ‘Doctor Robert ‘ so it’s more interesting. Thank goodness a chunk was removed.
