I saw someone reference this recently, and I can’t believe I didn’t think of this myself. John’s last words to Paul were reportedly “Think of me every Now And Then , old friend”. Kind of spooky, eh?

Hope the song’ll get a Grammy!
Haha, then the post-material world John can make a wisecrack about “…Paul’s Grammy s**t”

I think that aspect makes the project important to Paul. It couldn’t help but impact your soul, with those words being with you all those years. I’m glad they ultimately finished the song.

I listen to the song regularly – all four Beatles nailed it, across the generations they made this a reality. I think it fits into the catalogue nicely.

Sometimes Now And Then morphs into Look At Me in my head. Someone should do a mash-up.

So far, this is my favourite Now And Then cover version, performed by IMY2:
I’m also impressed with IMY2’s covers of other Beatle songs, including this version of Blackbird with piano accompaniment:

A few months on and I still think this song is fantastic. The lyrics hold really strongly and the production is very solid.

It could be my favourite of the ‘new’ songs they worked on and released.

I do love Now And Then , but my favourite has got to be Free As A Bird . Simply because you can feel George coursing through the whole track, it feels like the last true collaboration with all 4 Beatles.

OK, in 2023 we see a final showdown on Rock and Roll; Beatles and Stones release new music 2 weeks apart for the last time respectively. This is like a payoff for them not going to Woodstock.Who won?
Honestly, all things considered, I’d call it a draw.

I like the sound of Ringo’s snare rimshot on this song — nice and solid. I wonder if he came up with that on his own, or did bossy Paul coach him on what to do…?
The music video with the Ringo of today drumming was one of my favourite moments. Strong arms and as energetic as ever after all this time. A lifetime of playing that instrument and still not missing a beat.
