“IWY(SSH)” is an excellent Beatles tune that doesn’t get the hype. One of my fav all-time Beatles tunes. (Was that Martin or Billy Preston on the organ? Emerick wrote that there were no outside musicians used so far when that track was recorded, but no way in hell McCartney played that part.)
There are 2 organs – an ordinary organ and a Hammond. John played the ordinary organ while Billy played the Hammond.
Emerick’s line about “outside musicians” I would suggest means that no session musicians, brought in to play a specific part on a specific song, were used. While Billy was never a full-blown, equal royalties, member of the group, he was far from an outside musician – but an informal member of the group for part of 1969. The same as I doubt Emerick would ever describe George Martin as being an outside musician.
“Outside musicians” were people like David Mason on Penny Lane , brought in to do a specific job and then go.

Abbey Road : I have to go with Because . This song brings tears to my eyes when I hear their swirling harmonies.
EDIT: I had trouble with Revolver , simply because of songs such as I’m Only Sleeping , For No One , Here, There And Everywhere

Thanks, Ron. I knew just from my ears that it had to be Preston with those sick Hammond jams. It is true that Billy was around the Let It Be sessions, maybe that’s why Geoff wrote “no outside musicians”.
