Offline One I noticed long ago and posted about somewhere: The Night Before and Yesterday . So, so, similar.
Both songs are expressions of regret for a relationship gone wrong, wherein the singer takes solace in remembering when everything was right.
Which sounds awfully like a precursor to the nostalgic ‘When I was a boy, everything was right’ songs that they’d soon write.

Offline I just remembered this one so I will bring it over here.
In the song In Liverpool, Ringo sings: “There were places we could hide in our mind”
It took me back to There’s a Place: “There, there’s a place, Where I can go…And it’s my mind”
I often want to escape out of mind. It is nice to know The Beatles, at least at some points in their lives, liked to escape into theirs. I bet it is really nice inside their minds.

This one is a stretch, but it just keeps twirling around in the back of my mind.
In Ringo’s song English Garden, he sings: “Buttercups grow, high at the towers.” Since buttercups are yellow and green…
It makes me think of these lines from Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds : “Cellophane flowers of yellow and green

And there is the word tower(ing).
