WeepingAtlasCedars noticed observantly
Not sure if this counts, but awhile ago I noticed something cool about Dear Prudence and Wonderful Christmastime .[simply having a snippety post-trimming time]
See, if you use the melody of Wonderful Christmastime when you read the first one, and the melody of Dear Prudence when reading the second, they fit perfectly!
Has anyone else noticed this?
FAB observation, WeepyC! I have never noticed that before. It’s not an uncommon metre, so it’d likely be used quite a lot in simple melodies like that.

Probably already mentioned but I’m much too lazy to go through the whole thread.
Another Day , Every Night , Here Today , Tomorrow Never Knows , Yesterday , Tomorrow.
Mostly Paul. What is it with Paul and days?

I think this is where this would belong. It has to do more with theme and less with the fact that these songs sound similar.
Anyway, anyway, you can make, that call.
So I was listening to “Band On The Run ” and I realized that it has the same structure as “Happiness Is A Warm Gun “. They both have a slow begging part, a transition middle part, and then an end part that has the title of the song said in the chorus. Granted BotD’s end bit is quite longer than HiaWG, BotD is a far longer song as whole compared to HiaWG.

I’ve noticed this a lot before, but I just now decided to past it here.
At the end of the Ram On reprise there is a segment of Big Barn Bed. I always liked that psychic allusion in RAM.

Whilst on one of my little Beatles Christmas binges, I noticed something about Happy Xmas (War Is Over) and the ’64 Christmas record:
They both end with chantings of “Happy Christmas!” repeated over and over again!
It’s a Crimble Conspiracy.

Why does it matter how much time elapsed between the writings of the lyrics? All that matters is the time elapsed between the listenings of the songs, to notice similarities.

@Beatlebug Yes, I suppose one way of finding similarities is to coincidentally hear two songs back to back (e.g. “Wonderful Christmastime ” and “Dear Prudence “).
I was thinking more in line of hearing a song and thinking, “I’ve heard that somewhere before” – and thinking, and thinking, and thinking until you have that Eureka moment.
@Ahhh Girl Teachers have always been low-lying fruit for rock and rollers! A sense a possible theme for the radio show. Any other anti-teacher songs? (“Bad Boy ,” “The Wall”? I forget the lyrics)

*heaves long-suffering sigh* It’s called ‘Another Brick In The Wall, Part II‘ (emphasis mine), and you mustn’t forget ‘The Happiest Days Of Our Lives’ (sarcastic title) from the same album.
As a diehard Pink Floyd fan, it is my duty to know the relevant lyrics of what is probably hands-down their biggest hit, even though I don’t like it. Here they are:
We don’t need no education
We don’t need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teacher, leave them kids alone
HEY! Teacher! Leave them kids alone!

Fascinating that McCartney would reach back 30 years or so for that theme. Conscious or unconscious? I’m guessing unconscious.

Actually, I can’t clearly remember exactly how and when I discovered that. However, I sometimes play songs in my head and, of course, the lyrics are there. As I am recollecting these songs from memory (and memory is a fallible thing, of course), I often end up mixing up words/melodies/instruments/etc. from two or more songs by accident. My theory is that I ended up doing just that and found that it fit.
I was thinking more in line of hearing a song and thinking, “I’ve heard that somewhere before” – and thinking, and thinking, and thinking until you have that Eureka moment.
And that’s how I found the That Means A Lot /Free As A Bird connection in a nutshell.

I wasn’t thinking too much into it at the time, but I suppose it could have been an unconscious kind of thing; they were both tracks on the Anthologies, after all.

Every Night by Paul has a little part in it that sounds like part of You Never Give Me Your Money .
At about 51 seconds into Paul’s song on the ‘ooh’ part.

I was listening to Brainwashed last night, and lo! what did I behold but, in the titular track, the lines
Brainwashed in our childhood
Brainwashed by the school
Brainwashed by our teachers
And brainwashed by all their rules
George hated school

Oooooo, we’ve hit a triple. If we can find a Ringo song, it will be a homerun.
