Oi! It sounds like something @ewe2 would do.
I prefer the album version guitar solo *ducks to avoid shower of rotten tomatoes*
I’m with you there SG, everytime I hear LIB on the radio I get really excited and if it turns out to be the single it’s so anticlimactic “JUST LET ME AIR GUITAR FOR GOD’S SAKE”.

I like the guitar tone of the album version but prefer the melody of the single version. Hands off me solo, let it be

Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.

Are you kidding, the single version sucks because it lacks a good solo. The solo for Let It Be is the last solo George recorded for The Beatles until 1995 and it’s a damn good one to end with.

Naaaah… we’re Beatlemaniacs, our policy is that we can’t let it be. We MUST obsess over every last knickknacky thing.

Does anyone know if a studio version with two lead guitar solos exist and what album is it on?
I wanna say that it’s the one on the ‘Blue Album ‘, but I’m not certain for I’ve avoided the single version for quite some time now… It’s not that you can really hear both of them anyway… the ripping solo from the album is barely audible and sounds as though it’s coming from someone’s headphones and bled onto one of the overdub tracks…:-)

If you mean both the album and single guitar solos together then it’s been booted frequently, one source being Purple Chick’s ‘Let It Be Deluxe’ (disc 5, track 24).

I much prefer the tone on the album version’s solo. I really like both solos, but I think the distorted bite on the album version fits the song better. Actually, I was playing that solo in a guitar shop today and a family stopped to watch (hopefully for good reasons)

He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

Yes, me too @QuarryMan! Haha, good job. I must remember to play it next time I’m in a shop (along with ‘Stairway To Heaven’, of course ).

Which one do you prefer, the Let It Be : single or LP version? Do you prefer one guitar solo over the other?? The long version over the short version???
They’re only 15 seconds difference between the 2!
I can’t decide!

I’ve only been listening to the single version for a long time, but recently I’ve only been listening to the album version. To be honest, I never really got hold on the differences, I need to study and compare both versions more properly.

I most definitely prefer the single version. Perhaps part of it is due to the fact that the single version was the one I grew up hearing and have heard most, but I’ve never liked the album version’s solo; it doesn’t quite have the flow that the single version’s solo has, and I don’t think the tone fits as well. I’m not too keen on the treatment of the brass and strings on the album version of the song, either, nor the hi-hat echo in second verse, which just sounds a bit strange.

Never really paid attention to the other differences tbh.
