The full complete non-voiceovered Kansas City from the Cavern has appeared on Daily Motion. It sounds fantastic.

OK – who else saw this thread title and thought a replica of the Cavern Club was contructed in Kansas City ? I’ll cancel my flight to Missouri now, thank you.
Thanks for sharing, mmm – it does sound fantastic.

Thanks for sharing that, it sounds brilliant.
And yes, I too thought they’d built a CC replica. I was getting ready to ask why they’d bothered to do such a thing!

Hey-Hey-Hey-Hey! It’s one of the mythical unbootlegged-in-full tracks and not some Beatles themed club in Kansas City ! Sounds terrific!

^ Nope, I signed into here with my iPod. Not ideal as I don’t like using the internet on it because It’s So Hard to navigate and everything takes ages to load but I just had to listen to this.

Deep Beatles has a blog on the recording, and it quotes the Beatles Bible as a source. :->

BTW, today is the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ last concert at the Cavern.

Listening to the Little Richard version of this song. It makes me appreciate Paul’s vocals even more, for though he did sound a little strained compared to Little Richard, he did a remarkable job for someone with a voice generally so well suited to ballads.
Paul rocks, man.

Never cared for the track, if anything its one of their worst covers. Paul likes it a lot which is a shame as we get it on BBC compilations along with ‘A Taste Of Honey ‘ when far better tracks are available.
This is a far better performance of [a] ‘Kansas City ‘. Lively Beatles having fun; should have been on the Anthology discs.

That was fun @meanmistermustard – thanks. I love how they go from song to song within the same melody just like they did on the Anthology 3 CD with ‘Rip It Up/Shake Rattle And Roll/Blue Suede Shoes’.

That’s one of the many cool things about Paul. His voice could sing ballads and scream Little Richard-like. Not many can do that.

It all followed each other during the sessions, the Beatles rollicking thru oldies. Apple decided to only include a few and even then edited those. Its beyond words how Apple work; they cut out a good chunk from ‘Rip It Up/Shake Rattle And Roll/Blue Suede Shoes’ before releasing it; the actual length 4:14, what we got was 3:11.

Well, I don’t care what mmm says; I absolutely love Kansas City and nobody’s going to change that
I really do love it; it’s one of my favourite belt-along tunes.
p.s. Love the Cavern version too. Very impressive, especially for a 19 year-old!

Same!
I also admit to attempting to sing the guitar solo bridge, loudly and badly, with fake guitar sound effects. The things I get up to when I’m washing dishes…

I sing this one as loud as I can as well. The lyrics Paul sings on ‘KC’ are nowhere near the way Leiber and Stoller wrote them, but are still fun to sing.

Though, of course, one has to remember that before Leiber & Stoller, there was Big Joe Turner…
