I can’t imagine any song being on any album that it wasn’t on originally. So even if I wanted to change anything (which I most definitely don’t), I wouldn’t.

*climbs up on soap box*In the name of God and everything Holy, can we please stop messing with the album tracks?
We are talking about the best, most successful, best selling band in the history of mankind and we want to omit/add/switch album tracks?

Although Zig was being sarcastic, I agree.
Even for my least favorite songs, they’re on the albums for a reason. Why change it? I mean I guess its fun to imagine, but I don’t see the point.

*yells loudly* I love this freaking song! Every time I hear it I start dancing. Even if I have to car-dance.

I finally listened to it, and while I’m not quite as in love with it as parlance is, I like it.

When I was reading my thread on With the Beatles and its least favoreness in ratings, it seemed that mostly it was ruined for many with Hold Me Tight . So what is your opinion on this song, it’s nowhere near the best but certainly there’s a chunk of songs behind it in the Beatles catalog.

I think ‘Hold Me Tight ‘ is a great song. EMI was thinking about releasing this song as a single when the album came out but changed their mind.
Great rhythm guitar work.

A lot of people discussed their opinions on Hold Me Tight here:
https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..please-me/
But I quite like the song, it’s certainly not their best but it’s certainly not their worst

Yeah, I don’t know if we need a third thread for hashing this out, as it’s certainly not going to persuade/dissuade anyone. At any rate, if I dismissed an entire album on one song that I disliked, I wouldn’t be able to listen to most of the albums.

Hold Me Tight is on my list of Beatle gems that many may consider as filler. Great song, but distinguished by it’s unique texture and drive…not sure if that is Paul doing his bass thing or John’s rhythm which seems to be on the lower strings. But they knew exactly what to do with every song, it seemed, and they nailed it with Hold Me Tight .

I really like, but the first time I heard it was actually in the movie Across The Universe , that movie’s great! i like how there’s a lot of references to songs aside from the ones actually sung!

I like it very much. I used to think it was the first song ever to use the only/lonely rhyme. Then I realised that that rhyme was, sadly, not invented by the Beatles. Anyway, its a good sing. I’m not crazy about the you-you-yous, but I like the melody.

From the article: “Luckily footage exists of takes 20-29; producer George Martin edited versions 26 and 29 together to create the final album edition”
Is this right – there exists film footage of them attempting to record this track?! Has this ever shown up anywhere?
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

No footage just audio – all commonly bootlegged and will be on youtube.
