Would you add Hold Me Tight in to the album, or leave it off. If you would happen to put it on the album, which song would you’ve taken away. For me I would’ve taken away A Taste Of Honey. I don’t think it fits the album very well, and was one of the last songs I bought off Itunes from Please Please Me.
And if you saw my love, I'll love her to.

I’d have left it off both. Hate it on WTB and that was when the Beatles were pleased with the result, scary to think how bad it was for it to be ditched in February ’63. Surely they had another song, Paul must have had something else he’d been working on in late ’63 which wasnt as bad. Another cover wouldnt have been an option as they wanted to keep the 8:6 ratio and Paul needed another lead vocal. Shows Paul’s development as a songwriter that All My Loving was the other. John was kicking his ass in the songwriting department for the WTB and AHDN albums.
Still, listening to the outtakes of the song isnt as tedious an experience as some of the Get Back rehearsals.

I wouldn’t put it on Please Please Me ; I like it on WTB.

This is one of my favorite Beatle covers. I’ve always love the Herb Alpert instrumental, and was floored to find there were lyrics to the song. Incidentally, I just saw “Backbeat,” the musical in which the Paul character sings a lovely version by himself.

It’s not one of their best songs, but I would leave it on With the Beatles. WTB is known for having many fast and upbeat songs, and Hold Me Tight fits in.

The problem with leaving Hold Me Tight on Please Please Me is what would you leave off. Proper full-length tracks, they never exceeded 14 tracks on an album. So, to have HMT you’d need to drop a track. What track would you drop from PPM to include HMT?

In the name of God and everything Holy, can we please stop messing with the album tracks?
We are talking about the best, most successful, best selling band in the history of mankind and we want to omit/add/switch album tracks?

Totally agree, Zig. I wasn’t making a suggestion when I said, “What track would you drop from PPM to include HMT?” I was pointing out the silliness of the suggestion and wondering where it would end.

Yeah, I got that mj. I wasn’t responding to your post – just having a little fun at this thread’s expense. I am still campaigning the Planet in favor of a sarcasm font.
In all seriousness, it is fun to read others’ opinions (everbody has one, right?) and suggestions on how to make an album ‘better’. I just prefer to enjoy them as is; warts and all.

Thanks, I’ll listen to it when I get a chance- I’m not allowed to listen to music (or anything with sound, for that matter) after a certain time. Mom’s rule.
EDIT: I tried to listen to it with the volume very, very low, and it sounded like K-Pop or J-Pop or something like that…

I think it’s a great song as well. Question here seems to be whether the first two Beatles albums should be changed by moving it to Please Please Me from With The Tight.
