I think Her Majesty is great end to Abbey Road – it shows that they didn't take themselves too seriously. It shows how the Beatles were just people – four guys – and not some kind of supernatural group of Gods.
Good point. Paul talked about this a lot in “Anthology” – not taking themselves too seriously. Also, one of them (I think it was John – forgive me if it wasn't) said that whenever they started to take themselves seriously, they would just look over at Ringo.
That in itself is very telling.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

Ditto Zig. I think you're all guys are right. Now I'll look at Her Majesty in a different way

Hi, I heard the long version of Her Majesty on Youtube. There are plenty of comments about its inclusion on Abbey Road (and almost didn’t make it). But I think the long version is from Get Back sessions. Was it ever considered to be part of the Let it Be/Get back album? Link is below. Thanks

The performance during the ‘Get Back ‘ rehearsals is little more than Paul running thru the number and the others join in. It was never considered for the album (it’s far too rough tho does hold a good amount of charm), the same as numerous other tracks that were performed.

To include ‘the full version’ they’d all need a belly full of wine.
